I cannot take VIT C (any form and virtually any amount except maybe 50mg)

without getting the runs.

Same thing (worse actually) with ALL magnesiums.

SPARX is now giving me the runs too (even half a coffee spn) it has both C

and mag in it!!!

ImmunePro gives me the runs too............

Garlic gives me the runs

What am I to do? I get lots of very, very nasty respiratory infections

several times every winter, I always take weeks to months to recover, and I

suffer like hell every time.

Vit C report

I have taken C as part of my regimen for umpteen years now. When I feel any

inflammation- sore throat, cough allergy-eyes-whatever- I increase the dose

until the symptom subsides. It has really been very helpful.

This month, however, I got distracted and first ran short and then ran out.

There was so much going on with me-trying too many new things at once-

emotional stuff, too- that I did not relate the slow-motion crash I was

having to the missing C.

Now that I got some, and have been taking extra for a couple of days, I am

just amazed to see how much better I feel, all around.

FWIW,

Adrienne

Calcium ascorbate, (Ester-C), 500mg, w. bioflavanoids.200mg. I think it worked

pretty good w. out the bioflavanoids, too.

It doesn't say natural anyplace.

Nelly,

It sounds to me as though the issue here might be malabsorption.

Your gut must not be able to extract either vitamin C or magnesium

or amino acids from protein very well. The reason these nutrients

lead to diarrhea in everyone at some dosage is that their level

within the gut remains high enough to retain water in the gut by

osmotic force. If this happens to you at low intakes of these

nutrients, it must be that they aren't being absorbed well at all.

Perhaps your gut also has trouble absorbing other nutrients. Have

you considered the bowel treatment program of Dr. Serafina Corsello

in her book " The Ageless Woman " (www.corsello.com) that we have

discussed here in the past?

If you're plagued by respiratory infections you could try low dose

hydrocortisone for a while if you've got access to a doc to prescribe it. It

really helped my respiratory infections. Also Thymic Protein A - but its a bit

expensive
