Guest guest
Rich and all, your thoughts on detoxing Hg when amalgams are removed and one is real sensitive to some thiol groups? - I get sick, and now achy if I go near eggs, onions, garlic, lentils, MSM, lipoic acid to a lesser degree... My concern - if I push (slowly) the sulfur compounds on myself am I doing harm or good? I feel as if my GS Liver Detox Panel, showing very low sulfation but everything else including glutathione measure is normal range. So, is this pathway blocked and therefore am I hurting myself by trying to force these things into me? That has been my thinking so far and that is why, given the reaction I have to just a little bit of garlic, that I have rejected the idea of measuring my Hg levels thru the " standard " DMPS test. My doctor is of the opinion that I need sulfur (I understand this) and should keep trying to get it into me. I eat plenty of red meat, that does not bother me. I very much agree about making sure the detox side of the equation (removal and detox) is fully active. This is especially true once amalgams are out and one is pretty much avoiding new exposures (no tuna, mercury contaning substances like vaccines etc). So far, what I have been able to do for detox is - take saunas, colonics, the occasional coffee enema, support liver function with Silymarin, Dandelion, take ImmunePro for glutathione, and IVs of Vitamin C which in some circles at least is thought to be a mild chelator. I can also take lipoic acid for short runs before it starts to bother me. I have this idea lately that since the lipoic acid is such a good binder to mercury, much stronger I am told than garlic, etc that I should try to take garlic or onions at the same time I take the lipoic to help move things along. I know some do this same sort of thing with lipoic acid and DMSA. I don't want to take DMSA, it makes me sick fast and I am not sure of the way it may or may not re-distribute mercury across bb barrier. For regaining ability to use sulfur, I have been supplementing with B1 and Molybdenum. -My point here is that high mercury exposure could be the cause of CFS for some PWCs, and it could be a secondary effect of glutathione depletion caused by other factors for other PWCs.---------So the bottom line is that I encourage you to include the detox side of the equation in your analysis of mercury toxicity. ---------Rich
