Christa,

Thank you for your note. Does your son have congentile

scoliosis? How is he doing now? Did he have to have

surgery?

I'm going to look into the Early Intervention program.

Thank you again.

> We miss you! What's up?

Just busy with life, taking advantage of finally being able to drive my car

again, hitting the laundromat daily until I finally get all caught up.

Yesterday I finally got my sewing machines set up again and oiled up so I

can get started on the big pile of mending. Fighting with then waiting (and

waiting, then waiting some more) for the landlord to come up and fix the

oven door again (I gave up waiting and fixed it myself yesterday).

I'm also getting OUT and doing a lot of walking when the weather is good -

spent over an hour at the park this morning, most of it walking, part of it

sitting on a bench reading.

Oh, I can't wait until Spring hits! Today's warmth (55) is only going to

last one more day, then back into the low 30's and snow again.

Sue,

I was reading about the foot and joint issues earlier. I just want

to (nag) be sure you have proper footwear before you start tearing

up the pavements.

But I'm preaching to the choir, aren't I? ;)

Considering I've been going to podiatrists and have worn orthopedic shoes (when possible) and orthotics since mid-childhood and I knew my current podiatrist when his father was my doc and we were both in highschool, yeah. :)

Rockport walking shoes and I are old friends, too, and in 2 weeks I get a new pair - yippee!! I just hope they're still making the lightweight ones I love in the wide (10 1/2 EEE) size I need.

Sue, I'm sure we all send you huge support. It IS overwhelming - so many variables that differ child to child, so many "maybes", so much the best doctors still don't know, so much science. BUT, yeah, we're all former teenagers! If we can do it, you can too.

Re: Re: Counting Rules/teenage regression

This concert sounds brilliant, and you have just made me smile widely.

I am feeling overwhelmed by all there is to do and understand, and also by the wealth of knowledge that many of you have, and feeling very lacking. Then I read the excitement about the 70s teenybopper concert, and realise that you are just 40 something UK Mums (like me) who can get giggly about swooning over Les McKeown. Somehow it has made me feel a bit better.

Have a brill time, and scream for me too.

Hi Sue

Glad to have you here (swoon Donny LOL)

We were all where you are once, what we did was read a LOT, ask questions all the time and then ask them again till we unbderstood. You are mpore than welcome to do the same.

The only silly questions are ones you don;t ask and get confused about :)

Two months so far - first month once a day & the last month twice a

day. The 2x day really speeds up the process - thanks, Z!

Awesome! Im so glad that it is giving such good results. So, when you

use it 2x a day, does that mean that you just lather up with the soap,

and rinse it off then use the serum? The baby products are awesome!

They smell really good, and clean the babys skin so good. But i tell

you its not easy to hold a chubby soapy squirmy baby :)

I bathed in the Instant Ocean articial sea salt, often adding a

capful of the concentrated Orange Plus to my oversized tub. Any salt,

borax, essential oil combo bath or Bob's spice baths recommended by

many here, or Trisha's bath suggestions that come with the New Hope

kit should be helpful. Believe they draw out mites & toxins & prep

the skin for application of the next step.

Method 1 - After a bath, I'd shower to rinse, soap up with the New

Hope soap, let it dry the 5 minutes & rinse off in the shower. Often

used the hairdryer while out of the shower to speed the drying stage.

Then I'd blot lightly with trashable paper towels & apply serum or

balm (both spread more easily on warm damp skin).

Method 2 - Found using the soap as body masque per Trisha's help

sheet worked best for me at the point the " mites " were active. That

involves the bath, the rinse in the shower, the soap up & letting the

soap dry on the skin before you dress, then repeating the process the

next day. Two or three days of this, then two days of bath, rinse,

soap up let dry 5 minutes, rinse & apply serum or balm. That really

nailed it for me.

After a couple weeks of the soap body masque routine of Method 2,

went back to the straight routine of Method 1, alternating serum &

balm through both. Timeframe - 2+ weeks of Method 1 followed by 2

weeks of Method 2 followed by a week of Method 1.

Then changed my tack by adding a far-infrared dry sauna found locally

secondhand on Craigslist. Substituted the sauna for the bath step.

Firmly believe it's tremendously more effective on more levels for

me. Just shy of 3 weeks doing the sauna twice a day (morning &

evening) for 45 minutes to an hour each time. Now it's sauna, rinse

in shower, soap up, step back into sauna to dry the soap, shower to

rinse off soap, back in sauna to dry slightly, apply Serum & wait for

it to be absorbed another 5 minutes or so & exit sauna. Repeating 12

hours later.

No baths since we set up the sauna. Still use the Body Balm after the

Serum's penetrated on my hands. Apply the Lotion Jar in a Bar to face

& neck after the Serum step to seal it in.

Trisha's improved the Serum by adding extras & it's now twice as

potent for me. Highly recommend her entire line!

As usual, probably more than you asked to hear but I appreciate

detailed reports myself & answer as completely as I can!

For anyone who hasn't heard of Trisha Springstead's ESP Botanicals

New Hope line, here's the link:

http://www.espbotanicals.com/main_line_new_hope.html

Can imagine Savannah poses a similar challenge to you as a greased

pig contest does! Thanks for sharing her first " mama " - you both gave

me an all-day smile! Best wishes, Sue

Hi Sue!That's the one!I just started using this about a week or a week and a half ago, and it looks like I have hardly used any at all. A little bit goes a long way!Hope you get to try it as it really does speed up the skin purging process. It did for us!Not to mention that it smells heavenly! Hubby even likes it! I have never been to their website as I found this at our local Healthy Life market. Must check it out!All my best to you dear!TrlySent via BlackBerry by AT&TFrom: "Sue" <sue@...>Date: Sat, 08 Nov 2008 18:55:31 -0000<bird mites >Subject: Re: cinnamon brooms Found Khepra's website & their organic massage oils:http://khepracare.com/Merchant5/merchant.mvc (First product) Is the one you use the " Essence of the Nile " ? How exotic! How long does a bottle last for you? Thanks for the tip, Trly! Best wishes, Sue Hi all, Just updating. I am so almost done with these things. Whot!!! I started soakin my cloths, washed, and hung up over door ways. Yesterday there was a small amount of crawling. Today there is nothing. I shortend my bathing and shower schedule this morning and I am still‚ a bugless wonder. I still have a bunch of clothing in vaccum bags too‚ hang out but i am gona wait until all the clean stuff is dirty and out of door ways so there is more room. It will be a gradual thing getting all the clothing dehumidified. As I go‚ I will soak all the dirty stuff before washing even after I am certain this mess is over. We stoped the kids ivermec and just slather DE on them. they seem much less itchy this week. I think I will get another bag of DE and just keep this up for a while as a perventitive just in case messure. Yo ho yo ho a mitless life for me. Ack, I am so ecstatic I could take a cafine enema. J/k. I am thrilled though. Keep kicking ars guys. J.A.

Do you buy this yourself or can you get it through your home care company? I

can call this week and see if they can send this type for next week and I

also wondering if I need to try the smaller needles?? How do you know if you

need a smaller one?

Yes, that is what we use, it is called IV3000 and it is waaaaaaay better for

sensitive kids and holds the needles in place absouletly perfect!! it is

clear like Tegraderm, but way better, also it is tricky to get the hang of

at first so if you try it, order extras, you have to remember to order

enough for each site (as you throw away the film that comes with the

needles) and for the Emla sites. It is way better and as Mindy said, always

have one hand holding the skin in place as you use the other to go around

and loosen the tape, once it is completely loosened all the way around we

pull the needles straight up and out :)

We've used something called Primapor - we put one piece of paper tape

over the needle, and then put primapor over it - it's fabulous - the

kids say it doesn't hurt AT ALL. It's NOT at all like tagaderm, and

it doesn't hurt at ALL to have come up. The disadvantage is that it's

not see through, however, it's easy to pull up and put back down.

It depends on how thin your child is and how much subcutaneous (read: fat)

tissue there is. You want the needle to pierce the skin and its immediate

layer, but not go so deep that it goes into the muscle below. Most of the

time, the skinny kids get the very short (6mm) needles. The gauge of the

needles (i.e. 19G) has to do with the bore of the needle, or how big it is

on the inside. The larger the bore, the smaller the numbers are (i.e. 19G

is larger than 21G), the faster the flow, too, so you wouldn't necessarily

want a smaller needle bore as it would slow down the infusion.

I hope this helps!
