Guest guest
Melinda, Please take care of yourself!! Are you still coughing alot? When is your appointment with the allergist? Ask them to test you for asthma too. You have the same symptoms my mom had several years ago. She had quite a few rounds of antibiotics with no relief. Finally she went to an asthma-allergy specialist & she was having an acute asthma attack. Good luck to you & I do hope & pray for relief & rest for you. Take care! Love, Barb Re: Update Well, Ive done TWO rounds of Anti biotics. and Nada. Just finished up the last batch on Sunday. No change. Got 7 hours of sleep last night, Thanks to one of the very last ( only one left) Vicodin i have. :(But thank god i got the sleep as i ran around all day with my mother and sister. My sister bought a house. ( yes im jelious) Her hubby managed to get disability. Burns me up that he managed to get 10 times what i get cause he has worked more. ya he worked more cause he didnt even bother to finish high school, let alone go to any college or even a trade school. SO while i could have been working instead i was going to school and then Cosmetology school. I did have a part time job and helped my parents with their business. SO its not like i wasnt doing anything. But Now IM paying for finishing HS and Going to a trade school. Guess i should have not bothered and just worked instead. Nice. yep im grouchy. lolOh well thats it. Hope all is as well as can be. :)MelindaAt 02:10 PM 2/28/01 +1100, you wrote: Melinda hon, You sound like you have pneumonia or severe bronchitis - you should be on antibios or something honey.... you need a new Dr. You've been way sick for way too long... nasty :-( *yells* "Someone get this girl a Dr please...." *gently hugs * ¸..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- Aisha -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´ Don't let the odds scare you from even trying. - Schultz______________ Aisha ElderwynEmail: aisha@... Guest guest
Dear ne, I am so glad that you wrote to us about this. Am also glad to hear that is doing better. Darling at least they found a brain! *hug* You must be really scared! Did they tell you what sort of abnormalities were found or send you to a neuro? I know how scary it is - I too have neurological problems. However is there is an abnormality with your pituitary gland then your thyroid will go a tad mad. I dont know if you know but the pituitary is situated right in the middle of your brain. It controls all hormone and glandular function. It controls your thyroid. When the signals go skew then you get abnormal thyroids. This usually results in you developing hyperthyroidism. You feel sluggish, tired, put on weight, get moody etc. Just like any other AI disease! Left untreated it turns into Hashimotos disease. This is treatable with hormone replacement and thyroid meds. This also can develop nodules on it (my mother has this) which may or may not grow. Usually they grow slowly. (Assuming this is Hashimotos) But sometimes they get big and you need to have it removed. Again, they will treat you with replacement medications - so hopefully your thyroid will be able to get fixed up! Dusty (on this list) has growths on her thyroid too so maybe she can shed more light on this. I dont know much more then this I am afraid. At least you dont have to wait too long for the biopsy. I would be really scared if I had to have a biopsy done. - How are you holding up hon? I dont think that smoking causes these sort of problems. We all did alot of research on pituitary when it was first thought that I had a tumour. And we searched high and dry!! There was no mention of a connection with this and smoking. I dont know about the thyroid though. Normally it is lungs and throat - never heard of smoking affecting your thyroid - but there is alot I've never heard of!! Perhaps this will make you quit and you can become chockie addicts like the rest of us! LOL... Hang in there ne, and keep us updated. If you get scared or just need a friend send an email. Someone is always around it seems. If you have IRC or ICQ running you can always meet someone in the chat rooms or organise a chat. You are not alone hon, we are right here with you. *HUGS* Love Aisha.

Guest guest
Dearest Leigh, Congrats on your exceptional mark! Well done! Hon. You need to slow down!! Let him romance you - take time to get to know him. He is not a bad guy - he is trying to do what is right also. You are very wise not to enter into marriage before you know him. So take all the time in the world to get to know him. I think you are both sweet. I have no doubt all will be fine. Just take your time, dont get angry at him cause he cares. He is romancing you which is so sweet. Enjoy it sweet one. You deserve it. Be gentle on yourself. Love Aisha.
Guest guest
Hello Leigh Man when things happen to you they really go full on, what a time you are having!!! Firsrly congrats on the A way to go Yippee!!!!!!! Then a dress just falls into your lap and a perfect one too. Heh things are going good you should put in for lotto!!! Good luck with the interview, sock it to them, you are on a roll!!! I am so happy that Brain took the news so well man that would have been one nervous moment!! I think you are being so sensible about this whole thing, IMHO you need to take things one step at a time. It is great the guy didn't run a mile at the news and wants to be part of it all but it would be wrong to get hitched for the wrong reasons, you relly need to spend lots of time together first and see how it goes. I guess he see it as his responsibility to care for you and the bubs now and maybe he has been brought up that way. That is not a bad thing you just have to explain that things are going so fast etc. You guys just need to talk and then talk more. He sounds like he cares, and I guess it is obvious to expect some rough times ahead, getting to know each other and all that has happened and you are both in shok. So just hang in there and tell each other how you feel and take little steps!!! Have you been to the doc yet? Please go, I lost a baby last year and I really want you to look after yourself. If you need time out, take time out you have to put your health first. Wish I could give you a big hug, have you told anyone else the news yet? How did they react? Have you got support? Oh so many questions? Take care and remmeber we are all here and care Lots of love Nerys

Guest guest
Hi Aisha, Sorry!! I get so used to the " medspeak " that I forget that not everyone uses it everyday!! LOL A " po " med is one that is taken orally or by g-tube. Stands for " per oral " if I remember correctly. Reglan is a motility drug, one that in theory helps the digestive system to move a little faster and work a little better. has delayed stomach emptying, (his stomach empties much slower than it should), which in turn causes the reflux (stomach acid and contents washing up into his esophagus constantly), which in turn causes the vomiting, which in turn causes the bleeding in the esophagus. Did that make any kind of twisted sense?? LOL So the thinking was, that if we could use Reglan to break the cycle, then maybe all of these symptoms would be more controlled. Unfortunately, Reglan is a crappy drug for kids like . Reglan causes Parkinsonian symptoms in kids with mitochondrial disorders (that is, symptoms of Parkinson's disease, which is now thought to be a mito disorder!!). It will cause all of the neurological indications, such as tongue thrusting, tremor, etc. In effect, it gives the kids an artificial case of Parkinson's for as long as they take the drug. So you can see why I said " no way " . is still vomiting a lot...we are switching him back to getting Kytril (an anti-nausea drug) IV, because he was throwing it up, and what good will it do him then?? LOL Hopefully, it will help to get it IV, and will help him to keep his other oral meds down. No word on the fungal cultures yet...YEAH!! They sometimes can take a couple of weeks or more to grow, I think our hospital keeps the culture for 4 weeks. But it's when they grow quickly that you are really in trouble, so 5 days later, I'm starting to feel a little easier about it. And ya know, if you really wanted to help me.... I have this killer itch right in the middle of my back, and I just can't reach it.... AAAHHHH. Thanks. You're a gem. :-) hugs, Aisha Elderwyn wrote: > Dear , > > Big hugs to you sweet one.... > > I am really sorry to hear that Matty is not doing well. Have you been > able > to control the vomiting? (I know I'm on it lol) And you have to have blood tests every 6 weeks (I know I have to! lol) Want me to continue! LOL ... It may make you feel like you have a low grade flu but after awhile you get used to it. Guest guest
Suzanne, He " thinks " you have Hepatitis C? Hasn't he given you a blood test to confirm it? Hep.C is serious business. It's only really been recognized by the medical community in the past decade. I remember I was working in the doc's office, and getting a notice from the Health Dept and Hep C. That seems like it was around 1992, before that it was mainly Hep A, Hep B, HIV,..........now Hep C. The good news from our standpoint in the doctors office was, that as serious as Hep C is, the marriage partners, or significant others don't seem to come up with it. Everyone initially was saying it was passed through intercourse, but out of the five Hep C patients we had, all married a considerable length of time, not one of the spouses had it. We had a wonderful and world famous hemotologist here, Dr.Gish, actually in the Bay Area. If anyone can help he could. Since I haven't worked in the past four yrs, I'm not sure where he is, but I heard he was in Oregon, I can confirm that if anyone need the information. Let me know if I can be of any help. Since I haven't worked in the past four yrs, I'm not sure where he is, but I heard he was in Oregon, I can confirm that if anyone need the information. Let me know if I can be of any help. Guest guest
Well, Ive done TWO rounds of Anti biotics. and Nada. Just finished up the last batch on Sunday. No change. Got 7 hours of sleep last night, Thanks to one of the very last ( only one left) Vicodin i have. But thank god i got the sleep as i ran around all day with my mother and sister. Nice. yep im grouchy. lol Oh well thats it. Hope all is as well as can be. Guest guest
((((Melinda))))) I'm sorry to hear that the two rounds of antibiotics didn't do anything for you. Please know that you are always in my thoughts and is welcome to e-mail me privately any time. Guest guest
Thanks Kristy, Right back at ya babe. Im just taking it one day at a time, and doing alot of thinking and praying too. Its funny that when i am in a sick part of my life ( well other than the other stuff heeh) this is when i start to get a yearning for a child. Sometimes i feel like i might burst if i dont have a baby soon. I feel like something is missing. Im very anxious to have a baby. So soon im hoping to approach my Dr. yet again about this and see if we can begin to move my body into that direction. If i werent so darn fat i wouldnt have so many considerations as to having a child. Hmm, i hate being fat. but least im kinda pretty.
