Hello Everyone,

My recovery is going very well. The only problem is that my darn metabolism is

so fast it has been tough to gain weight. I have had an underlying nausea (a 2-3

out of 10) and for the first time in my life have not felt like eating. Over the

past few days this has diminished to a 1/10 so I have been eating more. Yeah!

As for physical activity, I have been walking, using my rowing ergometer, doing

gentle Yoga poses, and have started using my weights. It feels great to move. I

also have been getting my colleagues to work on my scar tissue. This has help

tremendously with the thoracotomy pain. I can sleep on my right side (sleeping

in bed and not in a chair....what a concept!) now and have not used any pain

meds at all for a week.

Take a look at this link to a book on Physical Medicine that talks about

Post-thoracotomy rehab. I strongly recommend following the recommendations:

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
