Guest guest
Hello Everyone, My recovery is going very well. The only problem is that my darn metabolism is so fast it has been tough to gain weight. I have had an underlying nausea (a 2-3 out of 10) and for the first time in my life have not felt like eating. Over the past few days this has diminished to a 1/10 so I have been eating more. Yeah! As for physical activity, I have been walking, using my rowing ergometer, doing gentle Yoga poses, and have started using my weights. It feels great to move. I also have been getting my colleagues to work on my scar tissue. This has help tremendously with the thoracotomy pain. I can sleep on my right side (sleeping in bed and not in a chair....what a concept!) now and have not used any pain meds at all for a week. Take a look at this link to a book on Physical Medicine that talks about Post-thoracotomy rehab. I strongly recommend following the recommendations: http://books.google.com/books?id=FiMoQ-OtbB0C & pg=PA585 & lpg=PA585 & dq=thoracotomy+\ rehabilitation & source=bl & ots=GcZDFzpOfj & sig=H3xdHbAw6lrAaBAOpSNoQKCCqvY & hl=en & ei\ =PfbrTKHzNcGclgfln_Ry & sa=X & oi=book_result & ct=result & resnum=5 & ved=0CDcQ6AEwBA#v=o\ nepage & q=thoracotomy%20rehabilitation & f=false Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
