Guest guest
Quoting toniasdogsandi <toniasdogsandi@...>: Ohhhh Tonia, I'm not sure I can be of much help. But as a concerned mother, I can feel your uneasiness. I am gathering that had his surgery not that long ago??? Sorry I'm not too up to date with the board at the moment. If he is then you could probably have him checked out by a local Dr, for any urgent problems. Other than that it sounds like he could probably handle waiting to see your Dr of choice, Rice. I had surgery now 3 years ago, I start having problems every now and again. Especially when I am run down. So you could be quite right with the cold theory. It also took me awhile to work out just how late in the evenings I could eat without it affecting my E. Also I don't seem to be able to manage fatty foods, especially fries. I find my E works like a pipe being blogged by fat. Also when I do eat, I still have to use a lot of liquid to wash foods down. My surgeon told me that my swallowing would never be perfect, but it still is by far better than it was. He said it may revert a little, and at times I may need to go back to soft foods. Which I have done many times. I slowly build back up again. I cannot tolerate steak type meat at all or carrots. Hope that helps. these are just my own personal experiences and I am sure others will mention theirs. But I wouldn't worry too much, if he is able to eat without pain, and there is no blood or anything, I think there isn't anything majorly going wrong anyway. hugs Kim in NZ> The other night informed his dad and myself that he has been > having some issues with food feeling like its getting stuck or not > going down well.ALSO HAS BEEN HAVING ALOT OF THE " FOAMY " STUFF AGAIN. > He said he didnt tell us earlier becuase he said hes going through > anything else again and didnt want us dragging him to Cleveland and > being there at Christmas. Guest guest
OHH Tonia, my heart aches for you. I totally understand what you must be going through. I am sitting here thinking if it was Tia what would I do... We have to travel to Seattle not as long as your commute but definitely a trip. I guess I would try to stay calm and let Tia be the judge of things. In the past, there were times when things got bad and I asked Tia her opinion. Do you think I need to call the doctor right now or do you want to rest and see how things are tomorrow?? If isn't in pain and seem's like he can tolerate the wait then just take one day at a time. Like you said, if there is a problem Dr.Rice is gone and you would wait for him. Maybe should go on a soft diet until all of this is resolved. Poor , the fact that he didn't tell you because he didn't want to be gone for Christmas... That is just so unfair that he has to deal with this. I'll be praying for all of you. Best of luck! toniasdogsandi <toniasdogsandi@...> wrote: The other night informed his dad and myself that he has been having some issues with food feeling like its getting stuck or not going down well.ALSO HAS BEEN HAVING ALOT OF THE "FOAMY"STUFF AGAIN.He said he didnt tell us earlier becuase he said hes going through anything else again and didnt want us dragging him to Cleveland and being there at Christmas. Guest guest
Tonia Girl what are we gonna do with that boy? It was some time after my surgery that I had problems again, so I would think it’s a little soon for him to be having issues! I know mine was scare tissue that formed, but it was a good 8 months or more before I had any kind of issues at all! It was exactly 1 ½ years after my surgery that I had the stretch done. Last time I went was in May of 2006! But I still have issues every once in a while and yes I agree when I get run down I have more or stressed! I’ll try to give you a call, and see if I can catch you at home! I would ask what his specific concern is that can't wait a day or two. If there is a reasonable concern then by all means go now. If not, go when you feel is best. notan
Guest guest
Hi Tonia Sorry its been a while since we have been in contact been a bit mad around here recently, I am so sorry to hear about If I was you (and this is only my opinion) I would ask to stick to a soft sloppy diet for a couple of days and wait for Dr Rice to come back. See what wants to do if he is happy to stick with the soft diet for a couple of days and wait to see what Dr rice says, only can tell you how bad he thinks it is but if he is still eating well and NOT bringing the food back up I would say its worth waiting for a few days. If he is eating well (you said he ate beef sandwiches curly fries and coconut cake in one sitting) that's very good, it could just be that fact that as you said has a bit of a cold at the moment and this is causing the increase in phlegm and foamy stuff. Guest guest
THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP! This is kind of where my husband and I stand too. is really fine other than his cold.He is eating like a pig,up runnning around the house like a nut(lol),and is fine other wise.None of this has slowed down his eating at all.I am calling today and let them know we will come next week when Rice is there unless he should develop some more serious symptoms and such before then. Gosh- I Bet Dr Rice is gonna lay me out but he is the one who told us that no other DR needed to see james if a problem should occur, he needed to be the one seeing and treating so I am taking that statement literally, and that would include anyone including others in his office. Thanks so much - I dont know what I would do with out all you guys!!!!!!!!!! I will post again later- Love ya all-Tonia > > The other night informed his dad and myself that he has been > having some issues with food feeling like its getting stuck or not > going down well.ALSO HAS BEEN HAVING ALOT OF THE " FOAMY " STUFF AGAIN. > He said he didnt tell us earlier becuase he said hes going through > anything else again and didnt want us dragging him to Cleveland and > being there at Christmas. Guest guest
Tonia, I feel that u must advise to eat more numbers of small meals, instead of large 2 to 3 meals in a day and to eat very slowly.. Avoid citrus fruits like orange.. If possible, take more vegetarian meals.. And avoid aerated soft drinks.. These steps should help him a lot till u meet Dr.Rice. Normally ,no problems are expected so soon after surgery.. Hope he will be okay soon.. Mukesh from Mumbai ..
