Guest guest
Francine, So glad that you found this out now!! Yes other docs should have picked up on it earlier in childhood, I know every time my daughters go to the doc they have them touch their toes and feel their spine. Glad that she is taking it well. Let us know how the x-rays and stuff go. Well he told us she has scoliosis . Seeing her in her underclothes and feeling how her spine curves was surprising but when he got her to bend over I could not believe how curved her spine is . This chiropractor could not believe that all the other doctors did not detect this. I am wondering why I did not pick up on it. She used to wear alot of loose jumpers etc and lately has been wearing more form fitting tops and skirts so that is how we started to notice. I did not notice this when she was younger and want to ask him more about that , why it is so pronounced now . I was very sick with ulcerative colitis when I was pregnant with Jenna and low in folic acid and alot of minerals etc. The chiropractor says he wishes he would have seen her 7 yrs ago when she was 10 as he could have done alot more for her. He feels though she is out of aline all the way up to her neck area and feels once he gets some pressure off that it will benefit her swollowing. Jenna felt quite overwelmed yesterday with it all as it is something else to deal with . She also needs orthotic shoes as one leg is longer than the other. I myself saw this diagnosis as a real answer to prayer. I just felt that she will feel better with her spine being encouraged back into the right position as it also is leaning on nerves etc. This chiropractor has really helped me and my other daughters so I feel hopeful about it all . Jenna Rose is feeling better about it today and will be going for hip and full spine xrays soon. Hope this is of interest to you. Guest guest
Hi Francine, I hope Jenna Rose is having a good day. It does seem like a lot for her to have to deal with. Hopefully, helping her spine will help her swallowing. My 9 year old daughter has achalasia (just had surgery 2 weeks ago), in June she had her tonsils/adenoids out and a year before that had a tumor on her finger removed. So she has felt like, "why does everything happen to me"? I bet Jenna Rose is feeling the same way. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and positive thoughts are being sent your way. Take care, in Sequim, WA (northwest Olympic Peninsula)Francine Huyben <huyben@...> wrote: helloJust saw someone post that they appreciate it when we post even little things so wanted to let you know I took Jenna Rose to a really excellent chiropractor yesterday as we started to notice that her hip on one side looked higher. Guest guest
Yaknow in a way this post was an eye opener for me because for months I have been wondering if this isn't a HUGE contributing factor to my severe swallowing difficulty. About 6 months ago I looked in the mirror and ofcourse besides being all bones from the weight loss cause I can't eat much I am TOTALLY crooked! My rib cage is so off it's ridiculous. My Right hip is WAY higher than my left and my left side rib cage sticks WAY out to the side. I always always forget to mention this to my doctor when I see him so he has no clue about this. Im going to make an appt with a chiropractor on Friday. Thanks for posting this and I SO hope this helps your daughter. Robyn Check out my Blog! Robyns Blog ! My Groups!
