I recently started going to Dr. Richter because a lot of people on the board recommended him and I wasn't happy with my previous GI at Jefferson Hosp. I took my charts and had a Barium in the morning and pm appointment. His secretary Liz is awesome. She sent me this nifty map of the hospital so I knew where to park and how to get to the office. Let me know if you need it and I will email it to you. I like Dr. Richter, he's very confident and makes you feel calm as a result. Also he listens to you which is a very nice change. I think it is probably true that you do not have peristalsis. Most of don't have any or have very little. That is part of Achalasia, that we lose this function. From what I understand, you have asked Liz to ask the Dr. about the wrong medical details. I think you should wait for her reply. This must be confusing for you and will not help in the confidence you need to feel in your situation. I hope it all gets sorted out for you.
