Dear , Now that a little time has passed, do you feel able to phone the patient whose number you were given? In order for the Doctor to have the permission to give this information out, the patient must have expressed a wish to be given the chance to help others in his position. This person is in a perfect position to be able to help you in your confusion. I think you should grit your teeth and take a risk on this. Just putting your fears into words while talking to someone who knows what you are going through, has to be helpful and therapeutic. Honey I’m so sorry your going

through this. I know its confusing, to boot dealing with an insurance

that is hard to get someone to take. I had to fight for 3 months almost

to get Indiana Medicaid to pay for my surgery in Ohio at CC. Once it was all said and

done, the bill was 85,000 and Medicaid paid something like 15,000. Which

they couldn’t refuse the payment but it sucked that they had to settle

for that low amount, Medicaid said it was because it was an elected place for

my surgery. WHATEVER. I don’t really understand the buy me a

gift thing!!! I’m sure he isn’t gonna do the surgery for a “Soap

on a Rope” LOL. I would talk to him and ask if he is really serious

about that. I’m not sure I would feel right about buying my surgeon

a gift for a surgery of that nature. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM

I’m not sure what to say, if you are

comfortable with him and he won’t take your insurance then I would ask if

there is another surgeon that could do the surgery that he felt was good

enough. I’m not sure what to say that’s a hard dilemma.
