Hi Rita!

I am sooo glad to hear that you are doing so well. I totally

understand. A cute surgeon, huh? Not me!! lol I am also thrilled

to hear that your pain seems to be very minimal. That is wonderful.

I kept my large bandaids on for 5 nights, then my surgeon removed

them. The steri strips I was told to take off today, which is day

10. I have six 1/2 " insicions, so they are all tiny, and no stiches

or anything. Just the steristrips, which covered the entire

insicion. I took them off in the shower, so they were soft to

remove, and not too painfull. What surprised me was that they were

directly on top of the site, so they stuck to the scabs. Well, keep

up your great healing. I hope the good news continues with the

group!!

Take care Rita!!!

Hi Rita,

Could you please bring me up to date about where you had your

surgery. I guess you had a laparoscopic heller myotomy. Did you

have a partial fundoplication? It is now over 6 weeks since my lap.

heller myotomy at Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. I think I am the

happiest person on earth. I have so much energy now that I can sleep

through the night.

Rita asked... One thing I neglected to ask was how long to keep the

gauze taped to my stomach (over incisions) on.

Good morning Rita,

So glad to hear you are another in our " success " column!!! I have

really been thinking about you folks that went in this past week and

soon.

The Fri. morning after my Wed. surgery, the Dr. removed not only the

gauze, tape and bandages...but all the steri strips as well! I went

home with just open air flesh - NO stitches even! I was really

worried that it was too soon...but they assured me it was standard

practice. All the real stitches are on the inside. I was told I

could take showers, not baths, till it was completely healed.

Didn't they give you any instructions?

Joy
