Hi ,

Me agian, I hate to be a pain, and I know that each Dr. has a

different course they follow and each patient is going to respond

differently. But, I did want to add to what Cindi said, in that it

is commonly believed that the scar tissue that is built up from both

dilitations and botox treatments make the success of a future Heller

surgery more difficult and complicated. Dr. Rice at the Cleveland

Clinic specifically said that the fewer of these such previous

treatments the better for the outcome and prognosis of surgery. Both

surgeons I consulted preferred working on " clean " patients - ie. no

botox or dilitations prior. Did your Doctor consult with you about

surgery or just feel like this was the best stepping stone?

Also, I am too lazy to check the posts and I don't recall you

mentioning, but have you had a Manometry study?

Do you know the size diameter of your esophagus now? (ie...has it

stretched and lost it's shape?)

Joy
