Guest guest
Hello again, I know I bugged you all with all the external scarring questions....and since I KNOW I am prone to those weird scars (somebody help me out because I can't remember what the heck they are called Keylotes?- but I usually have to get a cortizone shot to get rid of them). Anyhow, if I get those on the OUTSIDE...won't I also be prone to getting those on the INSIDE when I get my surgery....AND, isn't that scar tissue what is suppose to make the surgery less successfull? I just don't want to end up in worse condition than I am before I go into surgery. Do they give those shots to get rid of the scar tissue on the inside? I know that Dr. Rice was saying that it was bad even to get the Botox shots prior to the surgery because the shots themselves CAUSED scar tissued that was a problem to deal with during the surgery. If even a SHOT causes scar tissue....then I am in for a heap of scar tissue problems??? Bottom Line - If a person is prone to those (Kelotes?) can anything be done to reduce that scarring on the E to make the surgery more successful? Some people have scars that grow and spread. I don't know what that means for your scarring, but it could be worth talking to the surgeon about. notan

I believe you are refering to Keloids. Maggie
Guest guest
Hello Maggie (by the way - very nice name.....even named our dog Maggie!) Please don't take offense - it's a compliment. Anyway, q.t. doesn't stand for anything complimentary (like it sounds like it should) .....my kids nicknamed me the " Queen of the land of Talks-alot. " - q.t. for short. In any case...do you know if you can get those...should I worry about getting those Keloids (thank you for the proper term) on my E? Do they give a shot to get rid of them like they do on exterior scars? Guest guest
Hello q.t@..., In reference to your comment: Hello Maggie (by the way - very nice name.....even named our dog Maggie!) Please don't take offense - it's a compliment. No offense taken and thanks for the compliment. As a matter of fact I gave my grandson an American Eskimo dog when he was 5 or 6 and he insisted on naming it Maggie because his grandma gave it to him. I don't know a lot about Keloids but I know I found some information on Google when another member mentioned them a couple months ago. I think it was ? It is not something I think you should worry about. Certainly not everyone gets them. Maggie Alabama
