Guest guest
I went and met with a surgeon yesterday. He informed me that he was referred to by mistake, he does not do this type of surgery. He told me very few doctor did this surgery. But he said he would try to find one. When I told him I was part of an online Achalasia support group, with many in the area who have had successful surgery, he was very interested. I told him the others who have had hellers could recommend an experienced surgeon to me. He was very impressed, he said I was better informed on who could do this than they were. He inform my general doctor that I would be recommending a surgeon and that I was better inform about who had experience on this procedure than they were. Who has been to a surgeon in the Boston Area who they could recommend. Boston, Pete

I'm telling you, these people KNOW the disorders and have the know-how to treat them. Just a thought- They told me they have had many powerful people treated there- people who needed secret service and the like- so much so that other patients complained about the closed surrounding streets and missing appoinments because of it! They take good care of people who travel there for treatment. Jan from Northern KY
Guest guest
Thanks Cindi, I was actually glad my surgeon admitted he could not do it. Not at least I am in the drivers seat. I have a say in who get recommended, rather than being told who. I know we had a few recent myotomies in Boston as well as one or two past myotomies on the forum. There was one woman who contacted me from Sudbury, but I can't remember her name. But she had a successful myotomy a few years ago.
