Guest guest
Lisbeth i am not sure exactly what a 'Niesen 'diet consists of but you can belnd just about any food into a soup and the taste variations are endless. I take the food I am serving the family and blend that using a bit of stock to get it more liquid and eat that. Let me know what you are doing and we can see if there are other variations on a theme. Guest guest
Lisbeth, Congratulations on your successful surgery! I ate a lot of soup my first week of eating. You could try instant oatmeal, carnation instant breakfast, guacamole (without the chips)! I remember getting a glass of milk and putting graham crackers in it till they got really mushy and that was really yummy and went down well! Before you know it you will be graduating to a soft foods diet and will be eating more and more! Take care and remember to chew really well! Sandi Post surgery Niesen diet suggestions? Guest guest
Lisbeth - I'm so happy for you! Yes, I have noticed most people have spasms post-op & trouble with hunger/fullness signals. My surgeon said both are normal. Where did you have your surgery in Philly? some things that I ate that were great were noodle soup - I started with the packets that had small noodles (campbells or Mrs. Grass) & worked up to my homemade soup. Refried beans are good. I can't do dairy, but I would think cottage cheese might work. tuna salad (just tuna, mayo & spices). Keep us posted! Cindi, also in PA! ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
Guest guest
Glad to hear you're doing pretty well now!Besides soup and oatmeal, you could also do grits (either sweetened w/ brown sugar or maple syrup, or make them "dinner" food by adding cheese, salt/pepper, and other seasonings). Applesauce. Cottage Cheese. Macaroni and Cheese. Yogurt. Fruit purees, or really ripe fruit as-is (the peaches I got this weekend about melted in my mouth!) Jello. Pudding. Hope this helps!Debbi in Michigan Post surgery Niesen diet suggestions? Does anyone have any niesen diet food suggestions? The mashed potatoes and cream of wheat are getting boring. Guest guest
Hi Lisbeth, You might want to check out this link. I came across it while I was doing my initial search for info on " A " when I was diagnosed. Its not a formal diet, but more like guidelines and ideas for things you'll actually be able to eat. http://www.brighamandwomens.org/generalsurg/diagnosis/benign_esoph_die t.asp Nora (in Michigan, but not Pepto Pink) > Glad to hear you're doing pretty well now! > > Besides soup and oatmeal, you could also do grits (either sweetened w/ brown sugar or maple syrup, or make them " dinner " food by adding cheese, salt/pepper, and other seasonings). > > Applesauce. > Cottage Cheese. > Macaroni and Cheese. > Yogurt. > Fruit purees, or really ripe fruit as-is (the peaches I got this weekend about melted in my mouth!) > Jello. > Pudding. > > Hope this helps! > > Debbi in Michigan > > Post surgery Niesen diet suggestions? > > > Does anyone have any niesen diet food suggestions? > > The mashed potatoes and cream of wheat are getting boring. > Anyone have any suggestions other than smoothies? > > Thanks for the help! > > Lisbeth > Philadelphia, PA > > >
