Guest guest
, the manometry just involves a tube they put up your nose and down your throat -- they don't actually "see" anything in there like w/ endoscopy, so I doubt anything will show up with that. You can ask your doc to do an endoscopy if he's concerned about it, though.... Deb
Guest guest
Do you think this pain it's something I should be very concerned about? I'm a nervous wreck! > , the manometry just involves a tube they put up your nose and down your throat -- they don't actually " see " anything in there like w/ endoscopy, so I doubt anything will show up with that. > > You can ask your doc to do an endoscopy if he's concerned about it, though.... > > Deb
Guest guest
, it's hard to say b/c I don't know what exactly you're feeling. I think I'd just mention it to the doc and see if he's concerned... you may have the start of a cold or something like that causing a sore throat, or it could be a strange "spasm pain" that's not subsiding, or goodness only knows. If the doc's not concerned enough to go in and look w/ an endoscope, I wouldn't worry about it at all. But let him make the call, and you stop worrying -- we pay them the big bucks, so they can do the worrying for us!!! Deb Do you think this pain it's something I should be very concerned about? Guest guest
Deb, Just thought I'd mention my first manometry they put the tube up my nose. My second they just put it down my throat through my mouth. , I agree with Debbie. Let your doctor make the call. I use to get a lot of pain in my E. But definately let your doctor know so you don't have to worry about it. Guest guest
Jen, I've had it both ways too! -- I have a deviated septum, and they sometimes have problems getting it through my nose, so they just go through the mouth on those occasions. (I think the nose-part gives them a better idea of the UES, but since that's not my problem they don't care too much if they can't go that way.)
