Wow, not even if it's just part of the "household chores" that rotate among all the kids? I can understand their objection to him being the ONLY kid that's the pooper-scooper -- that would be making him a manual slave laborer! Are you not allowed to make them do ANY household chores, though, like making their beds, washing dishes, sorting laundry, sweeping the floor, etc??? P.S. Clifford is quickly proving that you can't take a 12 year old child from a reserve and place him in a City School. He hasn't grasped the fact that using his fists in a "no hands on" environment only gets him suspended. Even the adorable six year old "Knight" spits in other kids faces. So sad that there are still kids in this day and age who grow up thinking that this type of behavior is "normal" -- it breaks my heart to hear of this stuff. We had a case here last year where two parents kept their boys (ages 11 and 13) locked in the basement for 3-4 years.... no heat other than what was given off by the outside of the water heater and furnace (all the ducts delivered the heat to the upper level), one bare lightbulb, no beds (just some blankets and a broken toddler bed), no toilet or sink (they peed into empty 2-liter pop bottles), just such a sad existence! They let them out to eat meals and to go to school, but the rest of the time they were in the basement for living and sleeping -- no outdoor play, no watching tv with the family, etc. Some neighbors didn't even realize they had two sons, and this is in an area where the houses are only 20 feet apart!!!! Bless you, , for doing your part to make the lives of kids like this (and therefore, the world in general) so much more pleasant! Wow, life is exciting! That is why I'm finally winding down at 11:30 and venting to all the special people in our Achalasia group. My point being . . . I love the fact that we are not clinical.
