Guest guest
Thanks for the info, Sue! Yet another situation where we all have dysphagia, but not the exact same disorder. Debbi I came across TOFS this week, an organisation/charity for those born with Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula. I was reading their newsletters and found reports of/from children who get 'stuckys'. It moved me to tears to know that these children are undergoing the same problems as Stephi does sometimes, although they have a completely different condition which was corrected by emergency surgery shortly after birth. They also suffer problems with lack of peristalsis, strictures and reflux as a result of their operations. It opened my eyes. I have been quite dismissive (in my mind, not to their faces) of people who have told of a relative who has similar problems to Stephi because it just could not be achalasia. Of course, it need not be. These people have almost exactly the same problems day to day.If you're interested, you can read more onhttp://www.tofs.org.uk/index.html-- SueMum to Stephi, 7yoNottingham UK

Guest guest
Hi Tamara, I had this last summer. It was horrible. Got stuck on a Wednesday night. By Friday, I had gone to the lake with my nephew. Well, I think the cold water must have squished my lungs or something…cuz it popped right down. That was even better – the fact that it didn’t come up while swimming…YUCK!! I know this is a little drastic since its only April….but who knows. Maybe a cold shower? I have no idea. Otherwise go to your family doc in the morning. See what he can do for you. Take care, in BC stuck food Hello everyone I have a quistion's my food has been stuck in my E since yesterday water isn't pushing it threw nor are my other means of getting food to pass I have tried bringing it back up but that hasn't worked either only the water comes up it is causing chest pains I know some of the food has had to have passed threw I just can't get the rest to go through I go see my doctor on the 15th just not sure what to do I will probaly end up getting anthor dialation wich I hope works it should at least for awhile anyway so well if anyone has some input let me know please thank you so much Tamara in Utah
