My friend Roni has unbearable migranes, so bad that she needs to be knocked

out with Demerol. Nothing has helped yet.

If you know of anything, would appreciate it..will pass it on to her.

Some other things besides chiropractic (I also like network

chiropractic) that have been successful in people I know personally

are the following:

-infrared light on trigger points or if you can find one and learn how

to use it a light puncture set ( Mandel is originator)

-magnetic energy via biaxial rotation or stick on magnets (I use one

at the base of my neck)

-EFT (www.emofree.com)

-NAET (www.naet.com)

-avoidance of allergens (do testing for foods and environmental

sensitivities with a natural health practitioner...not the standard

scratch tests at the doctor)

-SCIO

-get a dental check up and get necessary work done

-cranio-sacral

-one strong black coffee with fresh squuzed lemon juice (no cream or

sugar) and yes, this one worked for me too. It's a Yugoslavian remedy

and my hubby comes from there. Use organic coffee of course!

-supplement with amino acids for a while so that the brain is full of

them (this is in very layman terms here) and the neurotransmitters can

function normally

-certain juices (sorry I can't remember brands but I think one was

Mangosteen juice and it was also a hardcore chronic migraine case)

-reishi mushroom

As with anything, if she's going to use supplements, they need to be

taken long enough and in sufficient quantities and not be synthetic or

full of fillers. Read labels. She may also want to try large amounts

of EFAs for several months.

Hope this helps her or anyone else.

Hi, it would not be a natual aproach but I am being treated with Atenolol. I do

not have high blood pressure but it is a blood pressure medication. The Dr.

that I see went to many meeting to see how to treat me and found out that

Atenolol is now being used to treat migraines. It worked for me and I was

having them about 3X/week and they would last about 3 days most of the time.

Nothing was working for me. I had them so bad that half of my face would swell

up so bad that my eye was swelling shut. Now if I do happen to get one ( very

far and few between) I can take Imitrex and it knocks it right out with the

Atenolol that is already in my system. I take it every night before I go to

bed. I believe it is 10 or 20mg. I could always look it up for you if you need

me to. Hopefully your friend won't have to suffer too much longer, because I

know how your friend is feeling. It was so bad I couldn't even take care of my

children because I could not function. I hope this

helps!

Dear List,

red wine, chocolate and cheese are said to be the most common allergens in

migraines.

Ozone therapy works on migraines, and since as it's also part of

the alternative cancer regime it's worth a look. Consider

anything that increases brain circulation to deliver that oxygen;

hydergine and niacin come to mind first, and anything that

improves the cellular uptake of oxygen, such as maintaining cell

wall membranes with DHA and EPA (wild fish oil), and pH control,

which is also part of an alternative cancer regime OR prevention.
