Guest guest
Hi Friends: I'm in hopes somebody here can give me some good advice. My little neice 6 years old ds. Has had 4 sets of ear tubes. Friday she was going in actually for the 4rth set. Each time they have either been falling out or fluid is sitting there. This time he said that the left one had fluid and the right one was almost out. So he was going to put in two new tubes. She has a moderate hearing loss in her left ear (the one with fluid sitting there) and the right ear she can hear very well. So Friday after the surgery the dr. came out and said he had a little problem. He was able to put in the right tube just fine, but when he went in to drain the fluid from the left it kept on bleeding and he drained as much fluid as he could, but since it kept bleeding he was unable to put in a tube. He mentioned that he wanted a Cat Scan to look at the ear to see if there was something there that might have been caused this. My sister asked well if there is nothing there then what is the next step and he acted like he didn't know. Have any of you had this happen to your child before? My neice has very very small ear canels and the dr. also mentioned something about her eustation tube not working correctly and that is why they are filling up with fluid and there is nothing to do regarding the eustation tube. Any advice on this????? Is it time to get a second opinion? Please if anybody has any advice on this please let me know. thanks much Stefanie (aunt -godmother to ds 6 years old) TX
