Join us for a webinar about opportunities to improve home and

community-based services

Find out more about two exciting opportunities for states to improve

Medicaid home and community-based services during a free June 3 webinar about

the Community First Choice Option and the Balancing Incentive Payments Program.

The Affordable Care Act contains two exciting opportunities for states to

improve Medicaid home and community-based services that become available this

October.

a.. The Community First Choice Option is a new Medicaid state plan

option that will allow states to provide a broad range of personal attendant

services and supports and receive a 6% enhanced federal Medicaid match.

b.. The Balance Incentive Payments Program is a new federal grant

program that will provide additional funding to assist eligible states in

reforming their systems to provide more community-based services, versus

institutional.

This webinar will provide the latest information about implementation of

these new provisions and share examples of organizing by aging and disability

state advocates to urge adoption. Speakers will include:

a.. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Disabled and Elderly Health

Programs

b.. Bruce Darling, Center for Disability Rights – New York State;

National ADAPT

c.. Rich, National Senior Citizens Law Center

d.. Royal, SEIU

Space is limited, so please register early and share lines when possible.

The webinar also will be recorded and made available online after the event. The

webinar is sponsored by the Friday Morning Collaborative from the National

Council on Aging (NCOA) – a national coalition of aging and disability

organizations, including The Arc, working together to protect and strengthen

Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). Find out more at

www.ncoa.org.

Register now.

Webinar is scheduled for Friday, June 3 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. EST.
