Your friend is looking for someone else to 'cure' him, so he may not want to take the responsibility of using what God has given to heal himself. No one can cure anyone - only you can cure yourself. He then kept getting the bad news, and his inability to respond emotionally to the cancer contributed to his new cancers. Cancer does not spread in the body.
