The problem that I ran into with Stevia is the taste. It just repulses me.

It tastes chemical to me. I prefer Agave which I now have my health food

store carrying. It has a fairly low glycemic index.

Stevia is a very mild natural sweetener. You can obtain it in processed

form from a health food store or grow it in your own garden. If derived

naturally, it takes a fair amount to equal the same sweetness as a

spoonful of cane sugar. It works best in mild drinks, like teas, rather

than coffee, in its natural form, that is. Simply steep it with the tea

leaves then strain.

Alternatively one can try fructose, which is also a natural sweetener

that is twice as sweet as cane sugar, so one uses half as much. Fine

with coffee.

Don't know much about cooking with either tho.
