If the M.D. is not participating, will his/her Rxs be covered by Medicaid, as they are now, for non-Medicaid M.D.s? We may be changing to a psychiatrist who does not take Medicaid and we will private pay. The Rxs will still be covered by Medicaid. However, I can't get a " straight " answer on if under the Quinn proposed Managed Care if the result will be the same. Guest guest
Thanks Pam and . (and Marie, Ellen, and all) Pam, let's remind folks of the www.IllinoisITeam.com website you, Gordon and Ellen recently created, and that one of your core focus areas is the proposed Managed Care/Integrated Care initiative. Perhaps you could explain a little more in depth what people can get from the site and whether they can post commentary or questions there. And , please remind us why you are seeing Jim this week? Is it a public event? What is his role in the managed care project, and would you recommend IPADD members save his email address and send him questions/suggestions directly? Or are there meetings set up already for him to get input? If I'm forgetting details you've already shared, forgive me. Thanks, Laurie From: pam_harris@... Guest guest
Because I testified at the hearing on HB 5086 to slow down the Phase 2 and Phase 3 of the Managed Care Pilot until they had more information, and knew where they were going; I became the family representative. I was Invited to go to a meeting with Jim and discuss concerns of parents. I have a list that I have gathered from things asked on IPADD, and would be glad to add to it. We may get better answers if I hand it to him personally, and ask the questions face to face. That way I can explain not only the questions, but why we as parents are concerned about certain aspects of this pilot. Definitely keep Jim s e-mail address, and feel free to ask him questions. It is his job to " work out the kinks " as we go along. Re: A funny thing (kind of) happened at the Dr's office Open Question... With the " proposed " managed care...
