Hi Bob,

You have a good instinct about the supposed significance of a " so called

genetic " cause of cancer or other diseases. Since Cancer is suc a big money

maker

as is--why not make it even more so.

Basic causation will ALWAYS be based on assumptions allocating hereditary

causes and environmental causes. In order to make patient-consumers feel ever

more powerless to change their " genetic fate " the scientific pedigree of high

technology genetic rseach and science is used to shift the focus of individual

and regulatory authorities to support more corporate qick fixes and shortcuts

that undermine long term healthful pactices that might be too labor intensive

and too costly to maximize revenue for corporate interests. This is the reason

there is never a shortage of industry and insurance company sponsored " research

grants " to prove ever more diseases are caused by genetic predisposition.
