<< Same as above for Molybdenum? >>

If your kid can swallow tablets the Vitamin Shoppe does have 250 mcg tablets

from AMNI. That is what I eat. I have also seen Moly liquid drops (you need

one or two a day) but don't know where to get them.

If you use TVS and are reading the catalogue, call or go online - they don't

print their entire stock in the catalogue because they can't afford to mail a

phone book each month!

Could someone please explain what form of magnesium this is? I couldn't

find it at the Vitamin Shoppe which has everything or so I thought. Dr Amy

is recommending this daily. Any suggestions for where to get it? In person

or on line?

Same as above for Molybdenum?

Hi Heidi,

You can call the Vita Shoppe at 225-769-6265 and they will ship it to you. It is right next door to Dr. Amy's office, and they keep all the products she and Dr. Cave recommend in stock. They even keep a supply of Kirkman products! Good Luck--

You might try calling the Vitamin Shoppe to see if they just don't list it

online. I ordered a huge bottle of it from them a couple of months ago. We

use the Source Naturals brand and it's just called Magnesium Malate.

Sometimes they don't show everything they sell online.

Most drugstores have them. They cost about $3. Ask the pharmacist, it is

usually displayed in the stuff right near the pharmacy window.

I've seen them at alot of pharmacies. However, if you got the source

natural's brand, it breaks pretty easily without a cutter. That's

interesting that they only had the 1000mg variety since I just bought the 825

mg a few months ago from them. Curty has been doing well on this 825 mg

split into two doses each day -- he's around 45 pounds.

Since I was the one who suggested this form, I'll answer :). You want the

Malic Acid to chelate aluminum. Magnesium Malate is basically malic acid --

other forms do not chelate aluminum to my knowledge. You can get malic acid

from drinking tons of apple juice too but you'd probably have to drink huge

quantities and couldn't control the dosage as well. I have done a few apple

juice fasts though that did me a world of good.

Okay, I found the Molybdenum (anyone care to try to type a phonetic

representation of how to say this?) in the recommended dose 250 Mcg tablets

on line at VitaminShoppe.com and Magnesium malate but only in 1000 mg

tablets. Any suggestions of where to find a pill cutter? Couldn't search

one up at VS website. Can I just go to a pharmacy and get one?

Andy, why is mag malate the best form? there were other forms in 200 mg

capsules which is the recommended dose, would have been easier. Why is

malate best?

Also, the recommended dose of Niacinamide is 100 Mg, is there any real

danger to giving 250 mg? that was the smallest dose I could find in one

capsule. I could split it of course but I am trying to minimize the plates

with little heaps of doses of supplements laying around my kitchen. Pretty

soon I will have to label them so I don't get confused as to which one is

which.

Thanks for everyone's input,

Heidi

Heidi,

It is mo-lib-de-num. I use a 500mcg scored tablet--it breaks in half

very easily. I use a B-50 capsule with 50mg of niacinamide (1/2 capsule

4 X a day).

I'm not sure why Dr. Amy's protocol uses mag.malate. I believe magnesium

malate chelates aluminum. We used it for months before chelation and

surprisingly my son's urine testing showed aluminum below the detection limit.

His hair analysis a year earlier showed high aluminum. Also, could it be that

Dr.

Amy means magnesium malate with 200mg of magnesium not 200mg of magnesium

malate? The bottle I have is 1300mg magnesium malate but it only has 200mg of

magnesium (about 50% of the RDA) per tablet.

Have a great day :o),

Walgreens has a pill cutter/crasher in one. (pharmacy in MA).

I have also bought a box with dividers and crash pills into

caps and place them there so when I need them I do not have

to crash.

Hope it helps,

The woman in the Vitamin Shoppe near me pronounces it moly-beed-num.

When dividing doses from a capsule, I hold it vertically, take the " top "

(larger outside piece) off , pour out what I need into his cup, and put the

" cover " back on, for later use. Since I am the only person accessing the

supplement bottles, I know what is left in the partially empty capsules.

It isn't hard to approximate by halves or thirds. This is not a perfect

method, but so many times I can't find the right dosage.

<< andy what other suppliments do you use and do you feel you have

completely

rid your body of mercury.???? kelly >>

I use a gazillion supplements and I feel I have got 80 or 90% of the mercury

out and slowly keep prying away at it.

Abbreviated list:

4x/day:

C 1 gram

B30 combo

Milk thistle

hydergine (Rx)

arginine/ornithine

TMG

choline

folate (extra)

chromium

Other schedule

Calcium

Lots of magnesium

zinc

molybdenum

lots of flax oil

a bit of borage oil

a bit of CLA

a lot of lecithin

vitamin E

all kinds of caroteines, lycopene, lutein, etc.

DHEA

pregnenolone

forskolin

selegline (Rx)

I also take thyroid hormone and testosterone. I've been able to wean the

thyroid dose down by 2/3 since January.

At this point I could probably stop a lot of this stuff but I am pretty used

to taking it and don't want to go cold turkey on it so I have been slowly

weaning off some of it for the last 6 months or so. I do generally believe

in the story behind " life extension " (which is why I knew enough about

vitamins to do something useful with them when I got really toxic in '94) so

I will keep taking a lot of this stuff even when perfectly well.

Aha! I started J on mag malate yesterday, and he was very hyper and pestering

Thanks for the tip! Won't be using that again.
