Guest guest Posted July 12, 2006 Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 hello all enjoyed reading all of your posts. today Lily had a check up with Dr.Gavaris, the surgeon who did her silicon slings at 6 mos. She will be 2 at the end of this month. Dr. G. advised us that she will probably have canthioplasty in the spring, and the slings with fascia lata one year after the canthioplasty. Her vision is developing well, with the exception that her narrow eye openings limit the horizontal movement of her eyes, so she sometimes closes one eye and focused with only the other eye, usually when she is looking to the side. I am very nervous about the canthioplasty, I am excited because I know it will improve her vision and appearance 1`but worried about hte surgery, especially since this time she is a " person " who understands things, talks, looks in the mirror, etc., The surgery will be at Children's National Medical Center in DC. I know some new people have joined the group, anyone else have any experience with any hospitals or surgeons in the area?
