Hi all,

Had nothing to contribute for some time now, but keenly reading the

posts of others. We are off to London on 16th October (we live in

Muscat, Oman) for appointment with Mr Collin on 18th and

surgery on 19th. The first surgery is to correct her epicant (make the

slit wider). The surgery will be at field's Eye Hospital at 2:30

pm and she could be discharged same day or the next. The next surgery

for eyelid uplift could be 6 months later.

Any suggestion where we can stay - for 8 days at least - at some

econimical place?? We know that London & economy do not go together

but trying!!! For those who would like to know, the cost (all in UK

Pound Sterling)of the Consultations will be around 250 (pre & post

surger), Surgeons fees 1,250, Anaesthesist 450, Hospital charges

1,250. Unfortunately our local insurance does not cover this as there

is an exclusion for congenital cases. This is just for information and

we can manage the fees but trying to keep the costs down.
