I'm glad to have come across the website that led me to this group. I have had problems all my life, especially socially and in relationships because of my BPES. This condition has also affected me mentally. I am 26 years old now, female and finally scheduled for eyelid surgery. I also have lazy eye and my son has BPES as well. The surgery I am getting involves the muscles in my eyelid. they are going to cut the muscle and tighten it up to lift my eyelids. Has anyone recieved this surgery or some other type? If so, how was the turnout? What about socially, has anyone found it difficult for people to accept the way you look? Does anyone of you avoid going out in public because of fear of being judged?
