I don't have much advice for you, other than maybe just a warm cloth? But I think we waited a couple of days before we did much wiping? It's crazy, Caylie's last surgery was only last December and already I can't really remember. I know that after we went back in to the next appointment the Dr. used a cloth and wiped some stuff away, but she was more healed by then?

Hi

If it’s any help I remember my mum gently

wiping my eyes with a saline solution and cotton wool (changing the cotton wool

after each wipe to prevent infection), it worked a treat!

My kids eyes were never like this. Try warm cloths as she rests maybe. Hope she is beeter soon. HUGS!

Hi Bernice

I would suggest that you ask the doctor or nurse. There may be considerations that seem to be obvious to us when we talk about it amongst ourselves, but would not be the right choice.

For example (please don't take this as advice, more as an illustration) I know that moist cotton wool can leave behind strands. However, some types of gauze are woven and are better for cleaning the site of surgery. It hurts my eyes to use saline which has preservative in it. On the other hand, the type without preservatives needs to be kept in the fridge. However, I have never liked cold drops in my eyes.

The best thing you can do is to ask the doctor or nurse. There is no substitute for professional advice for this sort of thing.

I hope that your little Nina recovers well. It would be lovely to meet you again (it was about 3 years ago that we first met, I think).
