Guest guest
Hi Everybody Just a quick note to thank everybody for all their nice e-mails wishing us good luck etc. It was very kind of you. Well bad news. Holly started with a cold and bad cough at 4am this morning which means they will not operate tomorrow at Moorfields. We are absolutely gutted and can't believe that our worst fears came true! Not sure when they will re-schedule, just hope it isn't too long away. Holly has never suffered with a cough and we can't believe that she gets one a day before surgery!!! Need major cheering up. Guest guest
Hi Lucy so sorry to hear about Holly's surgery. I know how you feel - Bipin got a cold and cough 2 days before his appointment at Moorfields on March 27th. We're now rescheduled to July 10th - so if that's anything to go by, Holly's new appointment might come through in about 3 months or so. I asked if we could get a cancellation appointment at short notice but they said it would be unlikely because of NHS cuts (not really sure what that means.) It's so frustrating when you're all geared up for it. That's the thing with one year olds and teething (it's teething -never mind BPES! - that's causing our family dramas at the moment..). The way Bipin's teeth are causing him trouble I wouldn't be at all surprised if he comes down with another cold in July.. Anyway fingers crossed for both of them. I suppose in the grand scheme of things a few months is not much, but it can definitely seem like it when you're worrying about something. All the best to all of you Tessa On Sun, 21 May 2006 20:13:54 +0100 (BST), " Lucy Chidgey " <lcgosport@...> said: > Hi Everybody > > Just a quick note to thank everybody for all their nice e-mails wishing > us good luck etc. It was very kind of you. > Well bad news. Guest guest
Thanks Nicola! It is very frustrating but hey, that is life I suppose. Holly is starting to get a little better now and has also took a few steps in walking so we are really happy about that. I hope you are all well. Guest guest
Hi Tessa Thanks for your message, at least we don't feel on our own so much now knowing you went through the same thing!! We are a bit like you too in that we go on holiday at the beginning of September and hope that the new date doesn't fall then. Mind you, the holiday is only in this country so we would still have the surgery and maybe leave the holiday earlier or go later?? I have just said to Garry that I feel quite bad that if I had known your telephone number we could have let you know on Sunday that Holly was unwell so maybe you could have had Hollys surgery appointment, but not sure if that would have been allowed. I can't see why we can't have cancellation appointments to be honest especially if we are prepared to only have a days notice. I think they must happen quite often especially if children are being operated on!!! Take care and keep in touch Lucy xxtessa mackenzie <tessamackenzie@...> wrote: Hi Lucyso sorry to hear about Holly's surgery. Guest guest
Hi Lucy, This is Amy, 's mom. I can only echo what everyone else has said. Hopefully you will get another appointment soon. The waiting and not knowing is the hardest part sometimes. Hope Holly is feeling better. Congratulations on the few steps of walking!
