Guest guest
Hi I'm Leah. My 10 month old Abbie has BPES, plus she was prem and tiny. I must admit I'd avoided searching the internet before now for fear of frightening myself but I'm so happy to have found this group. My big worry now is that I think she might have developmental delay which I know is associated with BPES and Abs isn't sitting unsupported (although she can do it if you hold a object low in front for her to look at). She can stand with support and I wondered if it's because she can't balance when she tips her head back to see. She's also not that fussed about toys, although she loves people and is really responsive. I don't know if this is because she can't see well. I'd love to know if anyone elses babies struggled with sitting. I'm also concerned in case she has infertility problems. When she got her diagnosis they didn't mention it so I have just found it on my internet search now. I'm wondering whether to go back to my geneticist because she did have chromosome analysis and I've heard sometimes they can assess the risk from the exact genetic defect. I don't know if theres anything I can do like egg saving. I know she's only 10 months but I'd feel better knowing what to expect! Thanks for your advice everyone. We're in the UK by the way.
