Dr. Coulter is one of the most lucid voices when discussing a multitude of subjects: vitalism and mechanism, medical history, homeopathy, vaccination and others. As an historian his perspective is unique, and revealing. Here is one of my favorite quotes from Dr. Coulter, whose works, including audio tapes, I am proud to say, are in our catalog (www.korenpublications.com): " An example of the medical profession's unwillingness ever to admit fault is seen in the history of bloodletting. Phlebotomy was phased out slowly in the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, but it was never stated to have been an error; indeed, the medical profession held, in the late 19th century, that the " nature of diseases " had changed from earlier times, that bloodletting was justified then, but was no longer needed in the new circumstance. " Coulter Ph.D. medical historian. Talking about denial. Here's challenge that has yet to be accepted by Dr. Viera Scheibner. I first heard of Dr. Scheibner when she alerted us to the DPT link to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS or crib death). She discovered, using a computerized breathing monitor developed by her late husband, a biomedical engineer, that after DPT vaccination babies breathing became irregular and apnea was common, sometimes ending in death, diagnosed as Crib death (cot death in Australia). MDs were referring patients to her and her husband to purchase this monitor (the cot-watch). However, when she approached MDs with this information she was told to stop continuing along this line. If she persisted she was warned that they would stop referring people to purchase her breathing monitor. Dr. Scheibner continued to research this issue as she believed she had discovered the cause of crib death. She and her husband watched their business die, as the MDs made good on their threats. But now she was on a new quest. She reviewed everything ever written on vaccinations for the past hundred years: 45,000 pages worth from every medical journal. She had to purchase a second home to store all the papers in. The result is her book: " Vaccinations. " (available in our catalog and on our web site). She discusses all vaccines and let's the reader see how the medical journals themselves are the best weapon to attack childhood vaccination. She mentions the work of Cherry, MD who noticed that crib death dropped almost to zero when vaccination age was raised from two months to two years in Japan. Crib deaths also dropped dramatically when vaccination was made non-mandatory in Australia as well. Dear Dr. Koren, Being a relatively new chiropractor in Illinois and a graduate of Palmer College, which is a rarity in suburban Chicago, I never knew the extent of ignorance and deception at National College until arriving here one short year ago. I am opening my first practice after a year of associating in Illinois this coming summer, and I have researched my " competitors " well in the area. Upon calling 15 " chiropractors " in a 5 mile radius of my proposed location, I found 3 are chiropractors telling the truth...the vertebral subluxation. I found 11 who try and manipulate, physiotherapize, and rehabicize their patients to optimum health...completely ignoring nerve function and restoration. Oh, and one, who get this, doesn't move any bones!!!! He actually told me that! He stated he has " a state of the art machine " (VAX-D) that he uses on all of his patients. I'll give you 3 guesses where the latter went to school...you guessed it. Now, I'm not saying PT, rehab, and VAX-D, don't serve a purpose, but their purpose is not chiropractic and definitely is not removing a subluxation. Talk about deceiving a patient! If measuring a patient during an exam or screening and showing them that they've lost height through the years is deception, than what is calling one self a " Chiropractic Acupuncturist " or " Chiropractic Orthopedist " or " Chiropractic Physical Therapist " as many National Graduates do? These " Chiropractic Physicians " , are misleading the public as to what the true definition of chiropractic is, and many of us in Illinois are starting to get fed up with it! True deception of patients comes directly from Mr. Winterstein's Medical Curriculum and is embedded in about 95% of his school's graduates heads. Prefixing some other therapy with Chiropractic is DECEPTION and it is a false claim itself. Maybe the FTC should pursue these " Chiropractic Physicians " who are the ones TRULY misleading and deceiving patients about what chiropractic really is? This is what damages chiropractors Mr. Winterstein. But Ted, you and I both know, National College will never understand the true method to health, just the true method to pain relief. The sooner they sell out and join the medical profession of orthopractors and Doctor's of Chiropractic Medicine, the better. They are polluting an entire state with misinformation about Chiropractic. But it sure does drive one to TELL THE TRUTH to as many as possible, when one of your neighbor's is lying and deceiving it's own young and it's patients. I only wish Mr. Winterstein could see the look on a 8 year old's face who can spend the nite at a friends house now because he's no longer wetting the bed since getting adjusted...and he didn't have back pain either. And regarding my piece on MDs not washing their hands: dr ted, I live in rural michigan and we have a voluntary ambulance service of which i was part of for a while until the MD's had me blackballed for making them do there job a little better. While going through the EMT schooling i had to go to a hospital to fulfill the requirements. During an 8 hour experience the doctor on call did not wash his hands once, by the way, he did not know I was a DC.
