Guest guest
Hi, I downloaded and tried this anti virus program " inoculate " and it worked well and is free. Only the latest scanner will find the MTX virus which is spread by emails. moonbeam forward.... As of late, some of the viruses end in .scr as if they were a screensaver but they really are .exe's. There are also some macro viruses that you can get that end in .doc. This is why you need an updated virus scanner. The virus that came from you was really the MTX98.exe but came in as sexy virgin.scr. This particular virus keeps sending itself out under different names. Some how, this MTX virus has the capability to write into a McAfee scanner so the scanner will not recognize it (so I have been told). http://www.cai.com/antivirus/personal . Install this free InoculateIt program, and it will let you know if there is a virus in your email and you can delete it. When you install it, it will clean the virus out of your computer. They come out with new updates once or twice a week at: http://cws.internet.com/vdefinoculate.html I use InoculateIt and as soon as I brought up my in-box with your two letters. InoculateIt told me I had two viruses. Your letters were the only ones showing attachments so there they were. By deleting them instead of clicking them, they caused no harm. The InoculateIt website gets busy, so be patient... Here is another one that will work, but unfortunately neither one of these works on Macintosh. http://www.mailcleaner.com/main.htm MailCleaner is the best way to protect your computer from viruses sent to your machine via Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express e-mail reader.
