Here is their website: www.ukrin.com It is an effective drug for many types of cancer. I do not know if it is effective for you type. You should call them and ask. My mother had a brain tumor, and I believe it was a glioma, so yours sounds more serious. They did not think hers was cancerous, however, they treated it as if it were. My mother did have about 20 physicians in , Mississippi (MS), at the University Medical Center and at St. Dominics Hospital, looking at her case, and they used the word " perplexed " when they studied her case. (I wish I could tell you the exact type, but my memory is so bad from fibromyalgia and thyroid disease now.) Her tumor was only about 1.5 cm and was strategically placed on the " Aqueduct of Silvas " (sp. -- not sure of spelling!) and it kept the cerebrospinal fluids from returning down the spinal cord from the ventricle in the brain that was swollen and retaining the fluids. She had a shunt installed and it worked for a year and then the second one worked two days, and the third one worked about a week and the fourth one worked about a three years, finally. Therefore, she had three surgeries in a two-week period, in order to get one to work. After the first shunt was installed, I was taking her to radiation treatments and she complained of the repurcussions: dizziness, nausea, etc. and asked for my feedback and help. I am a massage therapist and have read many articles and books on alternative treatments. I suggested and she tried both shark cartilage, as a tumor reducer, anti-inflammatory, and ESSIAC Tea, which is four herbs in this brand of tea handed down over the centuries from a nurse, Caisse (Essiac is her name spelled backwards). This nurse had seen many many people cured, during many years of caretaking, from all types of illnesses and they passed the tea recipe along to her, and she passed it along to her family and a dear doctor friend. This doctor friend/partner and her family sold the rights to another family/company, if I remember correctly. It is still on the market in the USA at about $43.00 per box. However, you can now purchase a similar tea with the same four herbs, plus two more, that are marketed, I believe, by her friends and/or the new owner of the Essiac brand, or something to that effect, for only about $24.00 per box...and you get two additional herbal ingredients. It is called FLOR-ESSENCE herbal tea. My mother's brain tumor went away after six weeks of Shark Cartilage, Essiac Tea, and radiation treatments! She also had a large family and a large country community praying for her. Look for Essiac Tea or Flor-Essence in most health food stores. GNC (General Nutrition Centers) have them here in the USA. You have to decant the tea in a dark glass bottle, and strain the sediment, if you buy the Essiac brand, but the Flor-Essence, or perhaps both brands, now offer a little cloth sack for straining as you boil the herbs. Try to get the one with the cloth bag, as it is much easier, or make your own, or use one found in kitchen utility sections of stores. I have read both books: Sharks Don't Get Cancer, & Essiac Tea -- testimonials. They are both very informative. Research has been done now for over 30 years on sharks not getting cancer! Also, while living in Miami, FL, my physician had suggested Shark Cartilage for my back injuries, which I sustained in a fall. However, as he said, my insurance did not cover this " food item " not yet approved by our FDA as being medicinal! He had used it for his back trouble/pain and had great success, as did I, for the anti-inflammatory effects!! Good luck. Try reading the books and seeing the testimonials written over the years by those using Essiac Tea with success in treating different types of major illnesses -- it's amazing!! As For Research: It seems I read something on this newsletter or on the internet about physicians in CHINA having some success with reducing brain tumors. If I can find the information I printed, I will forward it to you, however, I just moved and things are a royal mess -- I know where NOTHING is at this time! Hope this helps. They concentrate on Nutritional Healing. I believe the name of their book is " How to Cure Cancer with Nutrition. " I don't have it handy, but it's very good. Also, I recommend another book: Options - Alternatives for Cancer Treatment, (or something like that.) Guest guest Posted April 9, 2001 Report Share Posted April 9, 2001 Hi Jan, Here are a few other items that I've read are effective w/brain tumors: IP6 w/inositol Essiac-- the best brand I know of is Flor-Essence coriolus versicolor mushrooms Please be aware that some supplements (e.g., laetrile) and therapies (e.g., many immunotherapies and antimetastatic treatments) that work w/most cancers do NOT work w/most brain tumors (Gerson therapy works w/astrocytomas but not w/any other primary brain cancers), so I would make a particular effort to use those that have shown success specifically w/brain tumors.
