Guest guest
You are right Caer, the money behind the denture industry ($30 BILLION industry), the money in the surgery specialty industry, and the lack of money in the PREVENTION business, the odds are you are meant to be kept in the frame of mind that gum disease, root canals and other restorative work is inevitable and a fact of life. That the entire dental profession is geared toward 'treating symptoms' is testament to that. Dr. Nara, a retired dentist, who was basically forced out of practice for teaching his patients preventative methods. Dr. Nara gets pretty hot with the dental profession because they fail to do the job when it comes to getting their patients geared toward dealing with proper oral hygiene. He teaches promoting the self-help methods in the fight against 'periodontal (gum) disease' and related disorders " and writes that given the proper incentives, the individual will change his/her oral hygiene habits very easily and without a great deal of effort to properly and effectively wipe out a disease in your mouth that the dental industry banks on. The average individual will spend over seventeen times the money on re- storative dental work and dentures in his/her life- time than he/she would on simple prevention. Nara also states that the individual will add ten years to his/her lifespan with proper hygiene and avoiding dentures. I also avoid the dentist, mine outright told me it's ok to let my 3 year EAT TOOTHPASTE!!! For those of you who don't know fluoride is POISONOUS!!! http://www.mercola.com/2002/feb/6/fluoride_safety2.htm I was done with her after that. The area where she " cleaned " the tartar from my tooth is STILL swollen. It goes down when I do what I " m suppose too. What's that... I bought an irrigator, (she told me the irrigator is no good, but funny how it kept my tooth, which had a large hole in it free from infection for over a year!) use soap instead of toothpaste, and take vitamin C. I can tell a big difference even if after a few days go by and I don't follow this regimen. Dentists are good for some things, I had to get that tooth out, my nerves were exposed, something I couldn't do myself, or wouldn't want to.... flash back... to that movie when Tom Hanks was on an island and had to pull his tooth. EESH. Check out this site, it has a lot of articles and info about preventative dental health. http://mizar5.com/omedia2.htm " Caer " <caerfree@wispert cures for AIDS el.net> cc: Subject: On the subject of general health and 08/26/2004 12:32 dental... PM Please respond to cures for AIDS I haven't seen a dentist til recently, in 6 years. It's not because I don't believe in dentists (though I do think that many of them tell people they need more work than they really do), but rather because I've always had a sort of fear of them. I'm not sure why. However, I finally went, and reluctanly, am going back soon to find out what work I need. Though I will get a second opinion. What's amazing, is that somehow, I was able to get on my boyfriends insurance. We're living together now and I qualify as a " domestic partner " . I was sure that I would be refused care, but no questions were asked and none were answered. I figured that the question would come as " Have you ever tested positive for HIV " to which I could say " no " because none of those tests test for HIV. But it never came up. I was incredibly lucky. I do feel sorry for the company, that it's paying exsorbitant prices for health care that I'll probably rarely use... however, if I have any real emergencies, it's nice to know I have it. I also think that they have a program that will at least pay my holistic MD some of the money, so that's cheaper for me too. At least if I keep things under wraps, I can get real health care, instead of having to go to the AIDS clinics for " AIDS " health care. Doctor: You have eczema? Guest guest
There is a brilliant toothpaste and mouthwash in England called Aloe Dent...it is all natural and has Aloe and tea tree oil and other great stuff. Since using it I have had no tooth or gum problems except for when I run out. Before my gums were bleeding, teeth sore and thrush. My husband won't go to a dentist although he has a cavity and it seems to stop it from progressing or hurting. We ran out a couple of days ago and today his tooth is hurting for the first time since we started using it. The whitening one is the strongest. The company that makes it is Optima health care, it is English but maybe you can order it online. Otherwise I used a toothpaste and mouthwash from the Natural Dentist in the States which you can buy at healthfood stores, not as good as Aloe Dent but kept everything under control. Good luck! Guest guest
What kind of soap, ? Just plain natural soap? What about Toothpaste with stevia in it? I know that this dentist will probably tell me I need work I don't really need. However, I think I have the option of a holistic dentist. Guest guest
Go here for more info: http://chetday.com/dentalhygiene.htm The problem in toothpaste from what I gathered is not only the sugar, and fluoride, but glycerin, which coats your teeth. I can attest to that fact, while using toothpaste, everymorning I would have a clear, slimy film on my teeth, which has now stopped since using this soap. The book, which I was going to bring to work today and share some tips, but I left it at home!!! (WIll bring Monday) Has some good info, appears to copy info from another source, that I can't think of now. (In heavenly bliss eating mash potatoes & gravy..Ed I do have veggies too!) Sorry, anyway, the book states you can use any soap except the liquid kind. The tooth soap costs $19, for a 3 month supply. I tried using Soap Works Tea Tree Oil soap, which doesn't taste bad at all. I may even get brave enough to make my own. Also, included in my regimen is my trusty irrigator, which makes a BIG difference. Yes, I was told my son needed a cavity filled, but I remember getting fillings when I was younger, chewing them out with bubble gum. My mom took me to another dentist to get them refilled, and he told her I didn't have any cavities. At my last appointment, June 03 verified I am still cavity FREE. Oh, I forgot to mention, the dentist who told me it was ok to let my baby eat toothpaste, pulled my 11 year old's tooth without my consent. He was supposed to get a cleaning only and she claimed part of an old tooth was still in his mouth. SHe did say the new tooth MAY have pushed it out, but she felt it would be better to pull it herself. I don't know if she took x-rays, or what else was done. He was only suppose to have his teeth cleaned, so I stayed in the waiting room with my 3 year old. Never again!! We do have alternative dentists in Michigan, and they are the only ones I will be going to in the future. Let me know if you tried the soap, and I will share the tips in the book with you guys on Monday. Hey everybody, guess what!!! I won a Carnival cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Marten, and St. from Meijers Store!!! I go in January. I'm geeked I never won anything before. caerfree@wisperte l.net cures for AIDS cc: cures for AIDS 08/27/2004 11:53 Subject: Re: On the subject of general health AM and dental...
