Youth Caravan (Kenya) Addresses HIV/AIDS and National Youth Policy

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce to you the Peace Camel Youth

Caravan.

Voluntary Youth Philanthropists, based in Nairobi--in partnership with several

youth organisations--has embarked on an extensive awareness initiative that will

incorporate the use of camel caravan from Isiolo to Mombasa, a distance of

1030Km, starting from 29th of October 2004.

The objectives of the caravan are to lobby and advocate for youth issues, and to

recognise the contribution of young people in efforts geared at realising their

full potential in society. The Caravan goals are:

1. Creating awareness on the exisiting National Youth Policy

2. Sensitise youth on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse

3. Ecourage youth to participate in national development

We are working closely with other organisation that are willing to support this

noble initiative. Most of the corparate oganisations have supported the Caravan

in form of cash and in-kind.

Your contribution will be highly appreciated and will contribute immensely to

the success of the Caravan.
