The less cholesterol you ingest, the more cholesterol your body produces until it reaches the level your body needs for cell rejuvenation. People on cholesterol-free diets can get very sick because they put nothing in their bodies to manufacture cholesterol. If you ingest too much cholesterol, then your arteries may clog up. Any fat product, animal or vegetable, will help the body manufacture cholesterol. So, even though some margarines may not contain cholesterol, the fat in them will cause the cholesterol in your body to rise to dangerous levels. It is my understanding that if a person has a lifelong habit of eating lots of whole grain products and drinking alcohol in moderation, they are less likely to have a cholesterol problem. My philosophy is moderation and stick to those foods Mother Nature intended you to eat. Avoid those she did not. granny --- " Beautiful that war and all its deeds of carnage must in time be utterly lost.
