Hi

For thyroid function testing, she needs TSH, free T4, free T3

and if there are members of her family who have a thyroid or autoimmune

disease, she should also ask for TPO and Tg antibodies.

For nutrients, she should have iron, transferrin saturation%,

ferritin, vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc tested.

She should ask her doctor for the results together with the reference range for

each test done and give them to you so we can help with their interpretation as

doctors too readily will tell a patient their results are within the reference

range and therefore, they do not have a problem - wherever they appear in the

range. We need to know whether they are at the bottom, the middle or the top of

the range, or even outside of the bottom or the top of the range.

Hope this helps

Luv - Sheila

Hi everyone,

I am recommending a

friend of mine to go to see a consultant endo – can someone just confirm

what blood tests she should have – it is a private appointment by the way.

I know she should

have Vitamin D – Ferratin – T4 T3 anything else?

Thanks everyone

Best wishes

Mandy

I have an appointment with my GP tomorrow, I am going to ask for all the

recommended blood tests, iron, transferring saturation, ferritin, Vit B12,

Vitamin D, Magnesium, Folate, Copper & Zinc and including thyroid hormones.

I expect to be denied most of these. Where can I go to get these done

privately???

I am also going to tell my GP that I have been taking Natural Dessicated Thyroid

since September 2011, feel nervous just thinking about what her response will

be. Wish me luck.

Kind Regards,

Annie
