although recommended after seeing dr p i found they didn't suit me...too much

adrenaline perhaps or too much of some b vitamins.

if your arenals are struggling, are you daily taking good amounts of vitamin c

(in divided doses), some quality saturated fat and (preferably) unrefined sea

salt?

beause it is an adoptagen, siberian gineseng is also helpul and if you don't

have high blood pressure (fairly unusual with low adrenals)then liquorice

tincture can also be helpful.

discount arrangement with the company who sell them, and DR. P has recommended

them to me over the telephone. Any thoughts please?

Hi Trish

Hope no one minds me butting in - can I ask please, what symptoms did you have

that led you to think NAXs didn't suit you? Though I think they help me to an

extent, I do wonder if they've made my tachycardia worse, or at least not helped

it and I seem to be reacting to low blood sugar more and at higher levels.

Thanks

Susie

hi susie

it felt like i had a knot in my stomach all the time, horrible anxiety and a

need to wee much much more than usual. (a naturopathic doctor told me that was

probably to do with too many b vitamins).

i had an horrendous personal life at the time (and still do unfortunately!) but

the anxiety stopped when i stopped taking the nax and so too did the need to go

to the loo such a lot. the max i ever took were two a day but that was for a

very short time.

have you tried chromium picolinate for your blood sugar? i've read it is very

effective to keep blood sugar stable and enhances insulin sensitiviy. (the only

downside i recall is that is can lower copper)

best wishes

It might not be " too many " B vitamins, but simply taking any B vitamins. I tend

to find they cause bladder irritation, even the amount in my multivitamin

tablet. But I find it wears off after a few hours.

If you can't tolerate more than one Nutri Adrenal Extra you can always take lots

of Nutri Adrenal instead. Two Nutri Adrenal tablets are roughly equivalent to

one Nutri Adrenal Extra, but without the extra vitamins.

thanks miriam ...i have been taking a higher nature true food b complex for the

last decade without problems but i noticed the bladder irritation pretty much

immediately when i started nax ...sorry, i should have said that i also tried

nutri adrenal but experienced the same stomach knot/anxiety so for me, i would

say the adrenaline in the tablets does not suit. i may have over sensitised

myself to adrenaline due to some bad habits i had in the 1980's!

I have run out of suggestions, then, sorry. :-)

Nutri Adrenal and Nutri Adrenal Extra are only an adrenal support and if they

contained any significant amounts of any hormones they would have to be

available by prescription only. So I don't believe the reaction you are

experiencing can be down to adrenaline.

What is the smallest amount of Nutri Adrenal you have tried? My brother had to

start with half a tablet, and even that had quite a radical effect at first.

I have the same symptoms as Trish (except needing the toilet) on any whole

adrenal glandular (cortex only are fine). I don't think it's that uncommon a

reaction - if i remember rightly, Rosss (author of the mood cure) doesn't

recoommend whole adrenal extracts because of the adrenaline component. I do

believe they have adrenaline in them. How much, I don't know. They actually

gave me flashback memories. I am not the only person to experience this:

I much much prefer the cortex only extracts such as those available form

mandimart or iherb.

I did feel a difference after a day or two - but, this didn't really agree with

me either. No allergies, but I felt too stimulated on it, like it made me feel

too stressed. I was getting a lot of 'stressful memories' on it. Hard to

explain but basically they were kind of like flashbacks, just random memories of

random bad things, triggered by random objects, words etc. I've had this on

other glandulars, and when I was on antidepressants (a couple other people i

spoke to on the boards have said the same thing). So I think they certainly had

something in them that did 'something', just didn't agree with me.

>Chis I cant believe what you said in your email.I was on the NAX and built up

to 3 a day but felt they kept me awake.I stopped taking them for the last 5 or 6

weeks.I cant believe you mentioned flash backs because I had them too but not

for one minute did I put that down to the NAX.When you think about it, it

probably does heighten your senses.I had a really bad time for a few years

really really bad with my only child's health he is 27 and my world. He is OK now

but I am convinced I have adrenal fatigue because of this.Anyway around the time

I was taking NAX I was having flashbacks about what he had been through .

thyroid treatment/message/39795

Oh So Sorry I thought you were .Yes they did stop when I stopped

NAX.When I say flashbacks it was more like involuntary thoughts.Stuff I want to

forget if you like. And yes a small mention or reminder of something and it wold

flash up instantly .I do truly believe 100% that it is an adrenalin thing.I also

believe if bad things have happened that they can come back when you feel

good. Its like you are scared of it happening again.Just my opinion.xxxxx

i expect you will agree that each of us is unique in our bio-chemisitry...what

may be insignificant to one person may be significant to another person. for my

own case i suspect i have low endorphins...as far as i understand it, endorphins

help mitigate the negative effect of adrenaline so you can see that if the

endorphin resevoir is low then adrenaline will be more of a bother.

the knot/anxiety disappeared very quickly when i stopped taking the nax.

one tablet at breakfast.

i currently support my adrenals with vit c, b complex, additional b5, additional

active form b6, occasional b12, good diet, organic red wine and early nights :)
