I just got Iodoral from Amazon - 50mg 90 tabs $57.99. This is so competitive, they don't put the price on the web site. I had to put a bottle in my basket and then look at my basket to see the price. The cheapest I had found before was $60. When these vendors say 2%, is that kinda close to 2% or dead on 2%.

The reason I ask is that I have a 2% bottle from J. Crow's and it says on their

website that it is about 1/2 as strong as 5%. They don't give an iodide

content. This is the only guidance to dose how much KI you are getting.

At 5% 1 drop is 6.25 mg of Iodine

At 2% 1 drop is?

If I use their estimate I will call it 3.125. If I do the math I learned in Jr.

High algebra it is 2.5mg.

Close enough? Well if I want to take 12.5 mg with the 2% bottle I would use 4

drops with one method or 5 with the jr. High algebra method. 50mg would be 8

drops or 20 drops depending on which method you use to calculate the amount.

The difference is now very substantial.

I noticed some of the products on Ebay are advertized as 2.2%. This beggs the

question, Is 2% really 2.2% and J. Crow is rounding and explains their apparent

laxadazical approach in describing how to dose?

Re: Iodoral prices. Prices at Amazon vary everyday. There is a site you can go to that will alert you when Amazon changes their prices. The alert is sent to your email. Just find the item you want on Amazon and copy and paste to this site. It shows you price history charts and does price drop alerts. The site is camelcamelcamel.com - great way to check on iodoral prices. Works great for other things too.
