Guest guest
Many thanks for this lead! (I always like such -- it is now you find good alternative supplements that are not in the " alternative mainstream " ).... my initial research come up with the following: Lemongrass, oregano and bay inhibited all organisms at concentrations of < or = 2.0% , Antimicrobial activity of essential oils and other plant extracts. (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve & db=PubMed & list_uids=\ 10438227 & dopt=Abstract) However, I also found some studies suggesting that Oregano may reduce acidosis (the opposite direction of what some of us want - so I have some more digging...) Guest guest
>> From: " Lassesen " <KenL@...> >> Lemongrass, oregano and bay inhibited all organisms at concentrations of < or = 2.0% , I read somewhere that lemongrass essential oil was a good remedy for cold sores and I had some already that I'd bought for aroma therapy baths, so I tried it. It really helps me. If I put it on the sore at the very first twinges, it can head it off entirely sometimes. At the least, it seems to not get as big and heals faster. Essential oils are very strong though, not usually used internally.

Guest guest
Liz, I read so much on the 'die off' and the cleansing that the OoO would do, but I had just done a cleanse, so I knew I wouldn't go thru a lot of what so many do. I was pretty sure my tiredness, to put it mildly, was an effect of beginning to take it. I was determined to give it a few more days before I stopped taking it. Wanted to give it a chance, but knew I couldn't keep going the way I was. After the past 2 nights of having the fluie feeling, I'm doing just great today!!!! YEAAAAA!!!! I had read so much about it taking a few days and being tired was a result, so I didn't want to throw in the towel to soon. So now we'll see what if any results I feel I'm getting. Have you gone to the site that I was talking with Bonnie about? I had sent the link in an earlier email. There is SO much info there on this and about anything you could think of. Thanks so much for your input on it. Now I wonder if, I'm sure there is, something else that could help in this way, with your anemia. I've suffered from that on and off over the years, but seem to be OK now. I really try to keep on top of it... Love ya, Kiki

Guest guest
Hi Kiki, Bonnie, and everyone else, :-) The extreme tiredness from the oil of oregano is probably a die-off symptom which shouldn't last very long. It's suppose to kill off candida, viruses, salmonella, and various other bacteria. I've been thinking about trying it for along time, however I did a search on it today and I found that you shouldn't use it if you have anemia, which I do, because it can make it worse. :-o Love, Liz --- On Tue, 19 Oct 2004 17:46:09 EDT KikiDee11@... writes: Bonnie, when you say you are still 20# over weight, are you losing inches? If you're losing the inches, you'd be most likely building muscle, which we all know weights more. Just curious about this. Also, question for ya. I think tomorrow I'm gonna check out the CLA and CoQ10. How do you feel the NOW brands has worked for you? I buy that when it's a good match for what I need, less money ya know I think that's what I'll get in the CoQ10 as well, unless you can tell me something I'm not seeing in all my reading. I've been on the Oregano oil for 5 days now. I wasn't sure if I was reacting bad to it or not. I've been TOTALLY wiped for about that long. Tired before and the OoO seemed to make it worse. The last 2 nights I was feeling 'fluie' as well. Today I finally feel better. Not tired, to bad anyway. {I've got 2 kittens that like to play on me at 3 AM, so that wakes me up}. Been up since 6AM today and don't feel to bad. I'm hoping that maybe, just maybe I'll get that energy boost so many talk about. How are you doing on these sups? Connie, thanks so much for asking. I'm doing OK. Nothing to shout about, but nothing to be crying over. I'm good with that! I am trying to get back on the workout road. As I said earlier, I've just been sooooooo tired, no energy at all. I hope that has changed and I'll be back to normal, whatever that is...LOL Is anyone else taking the sups I mentioned earlier? If so, would you mind sharing your experiences? I swear, I'm gonna have to clean off an entire shelf soon, with all I take. The want to's and the have to's...
