Guest guest
Well I think we've all had the experiences and feelings you are now having. My gastroenterologist actually beleived I had achalasi, long before the motility specialist would agree. Talk about frustrating...the surgeon was waiting for the specialist to determine this. I think that at least now you have validation....you know what you have and what the options are. It isn't fun, but it coud be worse. We are all given only what we can handle. Keep your chin up. jeanne

Guest guest
You are NOT alone . I am from Penna. too and had to learn the hard way about the ravages of vaccine. Thank God that you did not have to learn this way. I have six children. Four are partially vaxed and two are completely vaccine free. Congrats on the new baby and I hope all goes well. I just had a baby girl this April and she had continuous room care so I could be with her at ALL times. She is also free of the vit-K shot. She is such a happy, healthy little girl with just incredible development! Where in PA do you live? I am in the southwest. Lynda New Member here Hello, my name is Stacey, I am 29 years old and currently reside in PA. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and am due to have a baby boy on October 25th. I do not vaccinate my daughter and don't plan on vaccinating my son. I am very interested in learning more about vaccinations and the laws regarding exemption. I would also love to meet other people that believe in the non vaccination of children. I feel like I am all alone in my decision and would love to know that I am not. A lot here don't vaccinate but it is like a " sin " to talk about it almost. But you will learn lots here, and it is a good support. In my case the brace only hurt more than it helped, but everyone is different. Get on top of this problem before it gets out of hand like it has with me. Get on this PT program and stay on it. The glucosamine is good, and you might try an NSAID on days the pain is worse. Good Luck! Mike MT
Guest guest
Have you tried McConnell taping? If your CP is caused by lateral tracking of the patella, taping your kneecap (properly -- should be shown by a PT) can make the difference between being able to be active and not. There's white tape you can get in a drugstore called Sports Tape. Forget that. It sweats off. You can get tape on line, but you'll have to pay twice as much because of the shipping. I called around to various PT offices and finally found one within driving distance that would sell rolls to me at $7 (less than what I was paying 10 years ago!). Hope this helps some. Ann New Member Here I'm a new member. I have been experiences some minor knee pain for a few years. Finally went to an Orthopedic Surgeon and was diagnosed with Chondromalacia. I was searching around and found this group. I will be spending some time looking back through the archives but 6,000 posts is a lot! If anyone could point me to a few posts that I definitely should read I would be grateful. My particular condition doesn't prevent me from doing anything, I just experience some mild to moderate pain and discomfort. It varies in intensity from barely noticable some days to moderate pain other days. Sometimes running or golfing actually seem to reduce the pain rather than increase it. I have begun taking glucosamine and chondrotin to see it that helps. I was also given a page of exercises by the Doctor and a prescription for Physical Therapy. I am trying to decide if the PT is worth the time and also whether it is covered by my insurance. The doctor also gave me a knee brace to where during physical activities but it is going to take some getting used to. Thanks, ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Thanks Mike, The exercises on that PT site look very similar to the ones given to me by the Doctor. I started this morning and will definitely stick to them. > > New Member Here > > > If anyone could point me to a few posts that I > > definitely should read I would be grateful. > > You might try this site also; > > http://www.kneeguru.co.uk/kneegeeks/PF_joint.html > > > I have begun taking glucosamine and chondrotin to see it that helps. > > I was also given a page of exercises by the Doctor and a prescription > > for Physical Therapy. Guest guest
Just wondering, Did your daughter have genetic testing to diagnose this? Debby <all_for_christ_6@...> wrote: I'm here because my 3 year old daughter has been diagnosed with FMF. It all started when she was about 4 months old. She spiked a high fever all of a sudden. This went on every month. She has had pnuemonia 3 times, broncitis twice, URI once, numerouse differnt colds and the flu since she was born. I was calling the doctor constantly because her fevers would 106 sometimes and it really scared us. Tylenol and Motrin really didn't help much. It would last for 3 or 4 days and she was fine for awhile. At first I believed the doctors who kept saying that it was just a cold or a bug going around. I never though much about it until my mothers death 18 months ago. Thats when, for some strange reason, we really got paying attention and was able to predict when this was going to happen. My poor baby has had several blood draws trying to figure this out. The doctors continually put me off. Finally about 2 months ago, my husband took her in. He refused to leave until they did something about it. We got an appointment with a juvenile rhuemotologist who took an extensive background information on her and finally gave us this diagonosis. He has had experience with this so I guess that made is much easier and quicker for us to get one. She has been on colchicine now for just over a month and we have had no signs of this since!! I'm really looking forward to learning more about this genetic problem. Now for the rest of our family! I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for 10 years. Besides our 3 year old daughter we also have a 5 year old daughter, a 7 year old son, and a 10 year old son. None of us has this genetic disorder, or at least none of us has the symptoms of it! Guest guest
Welcome ! I am Darcy, Mom to three boys. My youngest is just 3 months old... Anyway, there are sooo many awesome videos out there, and it's hard to recommend w/out knowing what you like first. The first thing that comes to my mind is Turbo Jam. It's fun, and not too hard. You can modify and make the workout work for you. It's got great music, and the instructor is awesome. It's a 'dancey' kickboxing workout. There are several videos out there ranging from 20 minutes to an hour (or over an hour?). Anyway, that's the first that comes to mind - but please tell us what you are looking for so we could suggest more (or different ones). BTW. congrats on taking the first step to changing your lifestyle. I also think you will love the group as well!! Darcy > > > > > > > Hi all, > > Im , I just joined and have a couple questions. Guest guest
hi julie welcome. well i do plenty of resistance training. right now i am sticking with heavier weights but alternate b/c variety and changing up shocks the muscles to results.but if you are starting videos by tamilee webb, denise austin, and gilad are a great place to start. if you get fittv you can see gilad workouts. denise and tae-bo are the two that i started with. tae-bo still kicks my butt after all these years. some great cardio is tae-bo and most kickboxing and dance workouts. they help you engage all muscles of the body while building a health heart and burning body fat. a little goes a long way. plus you don't need to be perfect to get good results from this workout. i look nothing like the dancers do in most of my videos(10 min. solution dance videos, dance off the inches, carmen electra) but i love how i feel after doing them and its just fun to try. thank goodness for videos to do in the privacy of your own home LOL. " circuit " videos meaning alternating weights/cardio are also a great body burner. i don't use them to much b/c of my goals to add alot of muscle to my upper body. but for workouts in a pinch, more endurance, getting lean,or break the monotony they are great. i have a few like the firms systems and classics(i only have two of the newer retail ones but they are good for beginners and cheaper). http://www.collagevideo.com has tons of previews of videos and you can search by type of workout and level of fitness.most of my workouts contain more on the advanced from ciavideo.com, cathe.com, and nrgfitness.net you mention diet which is something that is always a biggie. while i am not strict with my diet i am with what and how much i eat. its 85% of the equation of losing weight. protien and fiber should be bigger changes b/c both help you fill up with less. fresh/frozen veggies/fruits are the best b/c anything in its natural state provides you more nutrients for less. not to mention a whole orange or apple provides more fiber and less calories then juice. you might hear " clean eating " which means foods in a natural state, unprocessed(think boxed and canned over cooked etc) plz understand that you have to make a lifestyle change with eating to have a health lifestyle. many of us refer to our eating as " diet " but its not that at all. most of enjoy or over enjoy at times but we bounce back with eating a balance of good foods which for me include grains, protiens from meats(something protien powder with milk b/c of how i much i lift), and fresh/frozen veggies/fruits(never canned they have to much salt and sugar that contribute to weight gain). i hope that helps some. i am big on saying its what and how much you eat that really works with exercise.a good 1200-2000 calories a day of good food is ideal for most of women(although i think 1200 is still to low i am just going by booked recommendations).also keeping a food journal about what you eat,how much, what time, and how you felt. emotional eating is the number one reason most folks can't stay on the health track. i know this time of year its one of mine so i am not looking so toned in the belly as i was before the thanksgiving day feast. kassia --- mrsmumsiebear wrote: > Hi all, > > > So,I would like to know which vids get results > quick!!
