THis is ridiculous attempt at intimidation! If you find another doc, great. If not, don't sweat it- well baby checks are ONLY needed to get vaxed. A parent is quite capable of telling whether or not their child is growing well and there are FAR BETTER places to go to get parenting advice than from a ped! LOL It is NOT against the law to not vax. Exemptions are only needed for school. Guest guest
, why in the world would your baby's doctor take legal action? What the heck was she tlaking about??? We came upon some information when my son was 9 months old and we have not vaccinated him since. There is no reason for it! In fact, just yesterday I cancelled his 1 yr appointment. I'll weigh him myself and measure him myself. That's the only thing I looked forward to, anyway. The look on his face at his 9 month appointment just broke my heart! It made me so sad! I'm glad my husband & I chose not to have him vaccinated anymore. I'm due w/ our 2nd baby in October and she wil be a home birth and not vaxed! (Max was a hospital birth.) ~ __________________________________________________
Guest guest
I started my husband on this vaccine odyssey by giving him a short easy-to-understand book (Vaccines: Are They Really Safe and Effective?) Well, trying to get my husband to read a book is like trying to pull teeth. So my next maneuver was to have him read the stories of damaged and dead children at www.ThinkTwice.com. I had the site on the screen as he walked through the door from work. Made him read it right then. Made a HUGE impression on him. Next I'm a gonna have him look at the PICTURES of children who were killed by vaccines over at www.909shot.com. Then all the sudden there are faces to the statistics. Also I have him read alot of the e-mails here. By the way, ThinkTwice lists the names of Vaccine Studies. Find a study title you think is interesting and then find the actual study online. That would be a way to put facts and figures in front of him. But how about another media? I just purchased a video entitled " Vaccinations and Child Health " by the Aurum Foundation. It is three hours from the 1998 National Vaccine Conference and features three speakers: Dr. Philip Incao, Dr. J. Barthelow Classen, and Barbara Loe Fisher-President of National Vaccine Information Center. Cost is $39.95 via ThinkTwice site. So far I have only viewed the first speaker, but it is VERY informative. I highly recommend it. I'll be hogtying my husband down soon so that he also will watch it. Well good luck and let's us know what information you decide to give your husband and what makes the biggest impression on him. Don't let him get away with not educating himself on this subject - it's his child too!

You people are lucky to have DH's who read in the bathroom. :-( Forget it with mine. I have to read it *to* him orally out loud if I want him to hear about it. :-( Fio. Guest guest
The current issue of Mothering magazine is a great place to start (thanks to from this very list who wrote the vaccine articles). I had my mother (an R.N.) read this and she actually said " Oh my God Kelli- I'm so glad you didn't vaccinate! " (We did do 2 doses of TT which I had to remind her of). This issue is a FANTASTIC place to start- she's passing it on to another pregnant relative tonight... best of luck! ~Kelli Hello, I'm a new comer > Hello > I'm a first time mother who has decided not to vaccinate. Guest guest
Subject: RE: Re: Hello, I'm a new comer In reply to lookiing for material for her husband to read (me too, for family & friends)...the link recently posted for the letter to Congressman Dan Burton from parents of a boy who died from a brain tumor most likely caused by vaccinations, if you haven't seen it--covers lots of territory & is well referenced. I get continually more horrified at how the vaccine industry works--it's impossible to convey in a few sentences. The letter takes 14 or 15 pages to print but I don't see how anyone could put it down. It's online at: Vaccinations/files/BurtonDan2velec%5B1%5D.doc also added as an attachment for easy reading! This list is a great resource, and I've been reading every spare minute for months to try to get a handle on the material (tho stay far behind). I haven't gotten organized enough to post anything till now, but shed many tears over what I'm reading, and empathize with the incredible struggles over this issue. I babysit for my 18 month old grandson who lost his speech after his 12 month shots (maybe the MMR, but I think they're all dangerous now.) He is rapidly recovering language--but I don't think my daughter will let him get any more shots--she put me on this list because she already gets too much e-mail to read as a health care professional. Thanks to all who are doing so much to get out the word on vaccines. Peg Tilley ville Beach, FL Re: Hello, I'm a new comer > : Hello > : I'm a first time mother who has decided not to vaccinate.
