My son has eczema and I just don't wash him more than needed (few baths a week) and use this great lotion (the ONLY one that's EVER worked to clear and prevent his eczema) by Wildflowers baby products (again found at online baby care places that sell cloth diapers and natural products). Every treatment the doc told me to use was worthless and harsh. They wanted to use a steroid cream, no way! I told her what I'd been doing and when I mentioned it was an herbal lotion, she said " oh it's probably got aloe vera or something like that in it " . there's other natural stuff besides that! ::laughs:: anyhow, hope this helps. Guest guest
HI! Are you eating sugar? I am asking because a midwife once told me that this will contribute to cradle cap. My dd who is now 2 years old had it BAD. I was on a strict diet, took Acidophilous, Evening Primrose and tried everything, to no avail. Our homeopath felt it was her "life force" working itself out and found an appropriate remedy (she had a few other things going on) and after the remedy it got MUCH WORSE for two days and then it improved but it took a little while to go away completely. Guest guest
Thanks for your response, . I had been told by a doc that it was cradle cap (and, at that time, he did have obvious c.c. on his head) so I just assumed that's what it is again. However, I've read up on eczema since your message came through and now I'm concerned that it may actually be eczema. I applied Vitamin E oil last night then washed with California Babies shampoo/bodywash (great stuff, that) and then applied a little evening primrose oil and it seems to be a little better today. I'm wondering if it could be diet-related? I was dairy, soy and wheat-free until about a week ago when I started eating eggs again and added a little bit of soy back in as well. Or it could perhaps be a contact dermatitis as he's been drooling all over his hands a lot lately and then rubbing his face. Ugh.... who knows? What are these Wildflowers products that you use? Thanks again Amber spookymom wrote: > On Wed, 07 Mar 2001 14:20:58 -0500, Vaccinations wrote: > > > The treatment I used for my son was to rub his scalp with olive oil and > gently brush the flakes off with a soft brush, I'd then wash his hair with a > gentle baby wash (none of the regular brands, the herbal ones work really > good!). I think they are related to each other, but cc is when it's on the head...does that sound right? The entire process of the symptoms is the same..oozing over into a crust..etc. I applied Vitamin E | oil last night then washed with California Babies shampoo/bodywash (great stuff, | that) Do you like the California babies? I haven't tried that kind and use EArth friendly baby. Wanted to get CA babies next time, so youlike it? I'm wondering if it could be diet-related? Are you meaning that because of your diet and you're nursing? Anyone in the family with asthma and/or allergies? Could be why your little one has the eczema, I've also read that sometimes it's because of weaning as well? Not the case with ds tho, his daddy had severe allergies and asthma (like turning blue b/c he couldn't breathe) as a baby, child and up until we moved to Oregon actually. Makes me sick too, his mother smoked when she was pregnant with him (likely cause of his asthma?) and then even after he was diagnosed with asthma/allergies she and his father smoked like chimeneys in the house and around him constantly. Selfish...grrrr.... I'm digressing. sorry. Or it could perhaps be a contact dermatitis as | he's been drooling all over his hands a lot lately and then rubbing his face. Could be aggrivated by that? Not sure. | Ugh.... who knows? What are these Wildflowers products that you use? The lotion I use for him is Baby Wildflower or just plain Wildflower (not sure)-natural care for babies. I got it from www.thebabylane.com or www.earthbaby.com too I think. It smells heavenly and has grapeseed, avocado, and sweet almond oils in it and chamomile among others. it's the baby lotion not the kids lotion. It works really nice for the whole family tho Anyhow, HTH!
