Guest guest
My daughter with autism turns 17 in April so I am now thinking off all the things I will need to do when she turns 18. I know about legally becoming her guardian. She is receiving services through the Children's Waiver formerly 72D program and just recently has been enrolled in Medicaid because of that. When does the Children's Waiver turn into the Adult Waiver? I didn't think of it until I was reading a post from Ellen about what is required to apply for Medicaid and SSI, but she mentioned an state ID card. How do we do that? Do we have to wait until we become her guardian at 18 to be able to have her get a state ID card? I imagine that they would need a copy of her birth certificate. There is so much to all of this...
