Guest guest
Hi I just had my potassium bloodwork done, on Wednesday it was 3.6, I am now on Magnesium Oxide to keep the potassium in my system. It was 3.9 today. I had my 3 month weigh-in yesterday from the gastric bypass in january, I have lost 61 lbs, down to 216 and only 86 more to my goal. I found out today that I am to have a FISH test done this week. What is this test and what will my oncologist be looking for or not looking for? I stay in a state of confussion these days. My oncologist hasn't ordered anything in the way of testing, it's her partner that is ordering this. I like him better, but because they are partners, I can't switch over to him. When asked why they hadn't done a BMB since I first started seeing them in Sept. She said it wasn't necessary, because of my blood counts. Right now I'm ok taking the Gleevec 200 in the morning and 200 at bedtime. It also helps keeping my potassium in me. Thanks, for any info you can give me on this FISH test.
