Hi everyone,

I have been hurting around my lungs on the right side. My onc. sent me

for a CT scan because he wanted to check for a clot since I am on and

off Procrit. It came back negative for clots, but the right lung has

plura effusion( not sure about spelling). My Dr. is off today, but his

partner said caused from Gleevec and to not take it until Monday when

my Dr. gets back. I am on 800mg. Has anyone had this and can I take a

diuritic or does it have to be removed with a needle. His nurse said

they take it out with a needle. That freaked me out, because that is

what they did to my Mother when she had lung cancer and it came right

back. Any feedback would be appreciated. The Dr. advice was if you have

trouble breathing go to the emergency room otherwise stop Gleevec and

wait until your Dr. returns Monday. I have had this for 3 weeks so a

few more days won't hurt I guess.

Take care,

Joan Porter

Gleeved 800 mg.
