There are many articles about how to make the decision of a BMT vs drugs (and maybe someone will refer you to one of them). Most people are being treated with Gleevec first, for up to a year, to see what kind of response they get from the drug, and then making a decision. If she gets to a good level of remission, she may decide not to have a BMT. There is lots to read and learn and she has time to do this....you don't need to make an urgent decision. Also, when she sees a BMT specialist, that is what they will recommend....so you need to keep that in mind. Best wishes, C.
Guest guest
Tina, I can't thank you enough for your response. I wish you and your family all the best of luck in the world. I will keep you in my prayers. I absolutely love your strength and I wish I could say the same for stacey. May I ask where you are from and why you chose the Dana Farber Center? We have checked into them and Seattle. If I may also ask did you need to fundraise for this BMT. I also have a eight year old daughter, you little girl must be very proud of what a strong person you are. Talk to you soon!
