Guest guest
Hello to all: My name is Ann Long . I'm a 36 year old ,married mom of 3 . I live in East Tennessee . I was diagnosed with CML July of last year . and was put on 400mg of Gleevec. And I'm already in remission . My fish test has been negative for the past six months . The problem that I have been having is what I read on websites on surivial rates . Which worries me greatly, Since I have three kids. (a step daughter 21, a daughter 20 and a son 8 ) . I get so depressed and discourage about the future .. I want to return to school . I start to move and go forward and then the doubts creep in . DO you guys feel the same way some time and how do you re-train your brain to think otherwise? Thanks for listening and I look forward to getting to know any of you . Blessings ! Guest guest
Ann, The survival rates for many of us with CML are now in the decades. Dr. Mauro from OHSU told me at my last visit, that I would probably live another 30 years. (I am now 55.) I will be seeing him onMonday of next week, and I will talk to him again about longgevity again. I have had CML for almost 7 years now! I have since gone back to work full time. I have just driven from Kansas City to Bremerton, WA with my 2 sons and daughter in law. I have been helping them paint their house for the past 4 days. I hope that you do go vack to school and try to get on with things in your life and enjoy your children. Ann Long <etnmom3@...> wrote: Hello to all: My name is Ann Long . Guest guest
O!!! YIPPEEE!!! Number 1011 in the Zero Club Zavie [ ] Re: Introduction and questions > > Hello to all: My name is I'm 25 and I was DX in 2003. I was put on 400mg Gleevec I only hit remission January of this year. It took me over two years to get in remission but I'm here and hope to stay. As I was very young when I got DX, I really never thought my live was over. Even though I postponed getting married I never called it off, I will be getting married in 7 weeks. I get scared that one day that the meds will not work, even though some people say if the meds last 10 years that's a good sign, but I will still only been 32 at the point, if it were to happen. It really hurts knowing that I will be married soon and having to be careful, because I can not conceive. I try not to let this Disease rule my life, some days are better then others. I hope this helps. > Blessings ! > > Ann in TN > > __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Hi Zavie, I was wondering if you had me down on your list? I think I remember receiving an email from you about that but I am not sure if I ever replied or not? Anyway thanks for always being there for us, Terry On 10/24/06, Zavie miller <zmiller@...> wrote: > > O!!!
